Terrific start to a new series

Love's Prayer is so much more than a romance. It deals with some deep issues--depression, suicide, and alcoholism. These issues aren't taken lightly or brushed under the table. They are portrayed in a realistic manner. While these issues are prominent parts of the story, Love's Prayer is never dark and depressing. It is full of hope and love. Summer and Ben are wonderful characters who deserve to find happiness and love. The town of Sweet Grove is full of interesting and quirky characters who deserve their own books. (And will get them.) I would have liked Sunny Sunshine to have had a bigger part in the story. He is comical! The ending is a tad bit corny but it worked in this story. While faith and prayer are important parts of this story, there is no preaching and no specific religion mentioned. I really didn't feel the chemistry between Ben and Summer. Ben needs more time to deal with all the issues in his life--IMO. I am looking forward to reading the next book in The First Street Church Romances.

    Great Christian romance

This is the first in a new series, First Street Church Romances, by author Melissa Storm. It’s refreshing to read a Christian romance and this author knows how to write them. With this story, you get love, faith, prayers and a little bit a church all in one book. The story is about Summer Smith who while she is watching her aunts flower shop needs to decide what to do with her life. Then Ben Davis is living a life he didn’t want. After his bother shoots himself and commits suicide in the middle of the small town, his mother becomes an alcoholic and he has given up his dreams to take care of her. When Summer and Ben met, they feel an instance attraction. Summer doesn’t want to start anything since she is only there a few months but love seems to have a mind of its own. The story continues as their love grows, the town grows to love Summer and how to help with Ben’s mother. Even though Ben doesn’t believe in God in the beginning by the end he knows who is in control. I received this as an ARC for an honest review and I recommend it to all those who like to read sweet, Christian romances.

    Love's prayer

This was a memorable book. It reaches inside and opens up your spirit. I enjoyed it even though it made me cry.
