  • Wonderful

Be transported back into the amazing world created by beloved writer extraordinaire Sherry Ewing! Her stories are the most heartwarming and heart aching at the same time, because with time travel, it is never certain what will happen by one small incident. Ella Fitzpatrick has loved a man she feels is her destiny she met in the twenty first century. But falling back into the Medieval 12th century, she ends up living another life there waiting for the day she can go back. But her destiny is right there in front of her and not where she thought if she can only grasp it. Killian of Clan MacLaren has had feelings for Ella for a long time, but he knows she is waiting to be reunited with another. As they spend time together, everything becomes confused and it seems these two have to make a decision. My dream is to be in one of Sherry's books and with her magic transport me back to one of her knights at Berwick. Because that is where love is found and the past and the future meld into one perfect union that can never be broken. Sigh...

  • Captivating!

This is another beautifully written book by Ms. Ewing. I dare you not to fall in love with Killian. He is everything you would want your perfect knight in shining armor to be. He’s wanted Ella to be his for such a long time. The trouble is, Ella has been part of a time travel to different times and is trying ever so hard to change the course of her life and those she has loved. From the first sentence, I was captivated. The story has many twists and turns that kept me wandering what was next. Would Ella and Killian get their happily ever after or would those around them help or hinder their chances? With every page, I hoped they would not give up on each other. While love is patent, each was tested by the hands of fate. I loved the beginning, the middle and the end and Killian has now become one of my favorite book characters!

  • Not Really a Standalone, But Excellent Time-Travel

This is the first book that I have read of this series. In the book's description, the author states that this book could be read as a stand-alone. As someone who hasn't read any of the other books in the series, I can say that is not quite true. I felt like I was coming into the middle of the story. Clearly, the heroine had a history of some sort with those at Berwyck Castle, but this is just kind of glossed over—not a good thing for series newbies. Worse, though, is that there seems to be a very complex time-travel history for the heroine that isn't really well (or fully) explained. Some things have happened to her in another past in the medieval time frame that are also somewhat unclear. I don't know if these were explained in the other books in some fashion or not. So, for me, all this made for a somewhat confusing beginning to the story. What wasn't confusing was the chemistry and attraction between the hero and heroine, even when she is determined to meet the man she fell through time for—who is not our hero! Right away, I couldn't help but wish that Ella would just choose Killian, although I could understand how she would want to find her lost love again. I felt sorry for Killian. Both characters are older than we typically see in romance, which I always love, which makes it especially difficult when we see him struggle with finding what he may see as the love of his life—but she is in love with another. Other than the confusion because I had no inkling about the rest of the series, I found this an enjoyable time-travel romance. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

  • Ella's journey

Ella's falls through time not once but twice to correct a wrong and find her love. Lovely story of love and loss. Sadness and a love that endures
