  • Haunting. Poignant. Breathtaking

I just love it when a new to me Author blows my mind away in such a spectacular way. Love You Like That by Scarlett Cole is my one of my top read of 2022 and I am not going to miss a single book by her again. Alex and Zoe has that kind of gut wrenching, heartfelt, deeply angsty and passionate love story that haunts you forever. . I feel this book just destroyed my heart. Zoe is such an wonderful and complicated character. Witty. Feisty. Deeply passionate about her music. You can feel how the absence of music is sucking her soul out of her. And she still amazed me with her strength and resilience and beautiful outlook. She was scared and upset and frustrated and heartbroken but she kept on trying. Her personality can come across a bit distant and sharp but just imagine the devastating loss she faced. While her friends were a fabulous support system, not everyone was understanding. She just needed a push and that's where Alex came in. This man is just pure beauty inside out. Bold and open and unapologetic about his sexuality. Caring. Loving. Flirting. Gorgeous. Panty melting hot with the kind of intensity in his emotions those just own me. He didn't coddle Zoe. He inspired her to remember that she is still the amazing percussionist. She is still the best. They have this beautiful chemistry. Sometimes they were teasing friends. Sometimes they were connected at soul. Sometimes the passion burnt them. It has a subtle flavour of BDSM that I loved so much. It was slow burn but also explosive. The emotions were to die for. This was a such a remarkable journey and I was a mess at the end. Haunting. Poignant. Breathtaking. A masterpiece from Scarlet Cole. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
