  • Low country adventures again

Bought the e book. Really disappointed that the end of every chapter was missing! I have never had this happen with any other ebook. I was able to get a bit more of the last page of each chapter by making the print as small as possible, but it appears that NO PARTIAL PAGES are displayed. Must be a book/programming failure. The story that I was able to read was still entertaining, although it held no surprises that I hadn't already figured out before they were revealed. Still an enjoyable southern romp!

  • Best ending ever!

Such a great book! We have anticipated this book for weeks, and it’s finally here without any disappointment. I never look forward to the end of a book, but Susan M. Boyer delivered on this one. Perfect ending setting us up for new adventures. Once again such details making us feel like we were there. She brought more characters from previous books, giving us more details we were missing. This book is filled with anticipation, laughter, murder mystery and many suspects. But I was continually looking for Colleen along with Liz. We all need a Colleen in our lives. Perfect ending to that story. But I’m ready for more.

  • IT’S THE (AL)MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

This is Susan M. Boyer at her BEST! She provides readers with everything they’ve come to look forward to in her books. She has an engaging plot, heartwarming scenes involving Liz’s family, humorous anecdotes involving her Daddy and one of his “clever ideas,” learning about Liz’s Mother’s over-the-top Christmas decorations and the descriptions of her fabulous Christmas Meals and Liz’s husband and business partner Nate Andrews is planning a two week Mystery Christmas Vacation for everyone. While almost everyone is busy preparing for the “Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” there is at least one person who did not stop with the normal Switches and Ashes in their Gift Bag. They plan to ruin Christmas and have packaged pure Malice and have an intricate plan to carry out their mayhem. Leave it to Liz to find a washed up rowboat containing the body of a dead Santa. This Santa is not just a random Santa, rather one who happens to be C.C. Bounetheau, patriarch of one of Charleston’s wealthiest families!! The Bounetheau Family is filled with lies, deceit, cheating, drugs, felonies, extortion, blackmail and so much more! Obviously that makes trying to solve whodunnit a bit more challenging. Liz and Nate have many ideas of ways to get more information on each potential perpetrator. Boyer provides readers with an intriguing mystery and deftly places all the pieces of the puzzle together. As Liz and Nate are finishing their last minute packing to go on their Mystery Christmas Vacation, they are surprised by yet another deterrent to their future! After taking care of business and both receiving a huge Christmas surprise, Nate surprises Liz with an unforgettable 1st Anniversary Gift! The ending is SPECTACULAR! This book is truly a Christmas Gift from Boyer to her loyal readers! I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Henery Press and the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

  • The mystery was complex and awesome

Lowcountry Boughs of Holly, Liz Talbot Mystery #10, was AWESOME! I love watching Liz and Nate work together, and spending time with her family is an absolute blast! Susan M. Boyer evocates a wide range of emotions from her readers as she pulls us into the lives of the people of Stella Maris and the individuals that Liz and Nate encounter during their investigation. One of the fun elements of this book is the way Liz's mother attack the holiday with all her heart. The idea that Nate has tried to make the season a little lighter with the secret trip he has planned is almost an insult to her need to make the holiday special so she does her thing just like always. Since the whole family is supposed to travel together for the holidays, solving this murder is a time sensitive matter and there are few clues to go on. That lack of solid evidence doesn't slow down our twosome who fervent about making sure neither they or Blake are delayed in departing for the mysterious destination. In addition to the question of who would kill a pretty decent guy in a Santa suit, Liz is tantalized by the feeling that there is more to Nate's secrets than the trip. I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of Lowcountry Boughs of Holly so I requested a copy from the author. It was even better than I expected. #LowcountryBoughsofHolly #SusanMBoyer

  • Loved this book and the entire Lowcountry series!!

A festive Christmas boat parade, a festive holiday with lights, Christmas music, a reindeer....and Santa’s running around.....what could go wrong? Someone had a problem with one Santa as Liz discovers on her morning run along the beach on Stella Maris. Liz and Nate undertake the task of finding out who killed Santa! The wealthy Bounetheau family once again appear, and Liz and Nate find themselves in the presence of the formidable matriarch of the family. Lowcountry Boughs of Holly is a perfect read to begin the holidays, and once I started reading, could not put it down. If you have not been reading Susan Boyer’s Lowcountry series, please read the previous books in the series, beginning with Lowcountry Boil. All the books in the series are standalone books, but this book is so special, you will enjoy it even more if you have read the previous books. A truly southern Mamma, a funny, quirky, loveable father, the rest of the family and the residents on Stella Maris are all woven into this wonderful series. I read the first in the series, and could not wait until each new one was released. Authentic restaurants, menus, and historical sites are so descriptive that you cannot wait to go to Charleston to experience it all. Thank you to the author and Henerey Press for sending me an advance copy for review. All comments are mine...I truly loved this series and didn’t want it to end.
