    Succumbing to attraction

From the very first book in the Brides of Seattle series, we have read about Karen Martell and the integral part she has played in the lives of the brides and their new husbands. Having studied at medical school, Karen had to abandon her studies when she married her late husband, but that does not stop her from treating patients and in particular carrying out her duties as a midwife. From their initial meeting, Adam Talbot and Karen were attracted to one another, but Adam carries a load of baggage with him from a previous betrayal. Observing his brothers finding happiness, Adam eventually succumbs to Karen's beautiful spirit and decides to pursue her. However, an old patient finds her way to Karen's door bent on revenge for a perceived loss, and Adam has his hands full trying to protect Karen and her children. The story is well written with some suspense. Although this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy, although somewhat disruptive ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Adam will protect them at all costs.

I have really enjoyed this series and will be sorry to see it end. Adam and Karen would be really good together if Adam would just show some interest. Adam is so good with kids and Karen isn't sure if he just doesn't want a ready made family or if he just isn't interested. Adam was jilted and hasn't trusted women since. Just when Karen thinks they are moving forward, Adam does something that sets their relationship back. When danger comes to her door, Adam is there and ready to protect his new family at all costs.
