    Mandy

In this short you can feel the excruciating pain Mandy is going through from the miscarriage. This was well written and I can't wait for Hollow to come out. Laramie Briscoe has always written her characters with so much emotion you feel it to your core. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

    Heartbreaking

We have been leading up to this in previous Heaven Hill shorts and yet I still wasn't prepared. Seeing the situation from Mandy's view was heartbreaking. I have been in her shoes, not quite all the way but I know how she feels. Her own mind turned against her, tormenting her with what was and what should have been. She couldn't see a way out of this situation nor could she articulate what was truly going on inside her. Watching Mandy's journey towards help gives me hope that this family can survive and thrive again. Brava, Ms Briscoe and thank you for giving the world a glimpse of what it is like when you lose a child and you lose yourself, too.

Have A Box of Tissues Handy

I knew after reading Dalton that Mandy's story would be emotional. I was not prepared for the impact that her story would have on me. Reading how the events have impacted her absolutely gutted me and I legit sobbed. I felt Mandy's anguish and pain. I felt the impact of what Mandy was going though in Walker and Dalton's eyes and how they desperately wanted to help her but didn't know how to. There was so much emotion in this short story, Laramie wrote a beautiful, gutwrenching story that will break you but will also show a sliver of hope in times of tragedy. After reading this story, I am so ready for the next book for Mandy and Dalton. Absolutely amazing story...well done!!!
