  • This was an excellent effort

Matilda of Green Gables is written in a voice that echoes the tone and style of L. M. Montgomery. It adheres to the information about Marilla from Anne’s era while developing and expanding Marilla as a person with character and emotions. It explains how Marilla had become the rigid, contained individual that we are introduced to in Anne of Green Gables. I enjoyed this book and think that other Anneophiles will appreciate it too.

  • Love the title .

I loved this book. I now can relate to Marilla and her brother as I have read all of Anne of Green Gables and now things fit in. It seemed you were starting in the middle and there was no beginning but it all fits now and makes a beautiful story. Well written.

  • This backstory was a delight!

I read all of the Anne books as a child and loved them. I was worried that this book wouldn't fit/blend with the L.M. Montgomery books but I was so happy that it did!

  • Marilla of Green Gables

Girls who like the Anne of Green Gables series of books will enjoy Marilla 's story. It relates the difficulties of life before Anne. Marilla's story of her family life when she was young explains her behavior towards Anne. There is also a lesson to be learned regarding life altering decisions

  • Marilla of Green Gables

I loved the book; didn't want to put it down. Always good to have a back story on some of the characters in the story. Even though it's fictional; very plausible events. Also enjoyed what I thought was historical truths in the political side lines. I did not take the time to confirm. I would recommend this book to all L M Montgomery readers and more
