    Thanks for your feedback!

This is supposed to be an historical

The main characters were good, well fleshed out and each dealing with their own issues while at the same time realising that this was also true for the other (not that they knew what those issues were). The book is part of a series but can stand alone. The only problem I had with this book was when a pregnant secondary character bemoaned the fact that she couldn't wait until she could have a proper beverage again after finishing off a glass of lemonade. This had the effect of pulling me out of the story and it was hard to get back in. If the author can not write about pregnant women drinking alcohol (as was true to the time period) than maybe she should leave off historicals. When you consider the illnesses that could result from contaminated water and the lack of medical treatments available two hundred years ago, alcoholic beverages were often safer to consume. I have previously read this author before and really enjoyed her. I hope this PC blip was a one-off.
