A good read within the genre

Found the story and characters engaging, and absolutely intend to read the next in the series. Felt the author lost his way at times, and at others demonstrated a clear skill. He occasionally fell back on the Bernard Cornwall tropes, but is clearly developing his own style..

    Master of War series

The three stories in the Master of War series are gripping and so well written and researched that if you are into historical novels, you won't want to put any of them down. Canot wait for the author to write the next sequel of Blakstone's life

    Master of War

Very well written book. The main protagonist brings you into his worldview quickly and builds an eagerness for the reader to share his journey. We see a noble heart in Thomas that is missing in his so called betters ad this character development glues us to the story throughot the book. 5
