    Great read

Fun read and a well-paced plot. I really enjoy reading historical fiction to fix historical characters into my memory. I know it's fiction, but it fleshes out what was previously a dry list of names, dates and battle accounts, turning it into an interesting series of events.

A good read within the genre

Found the story and characters engaging, and absolutely intend to read the next in the series. Felt the author lost his way at times, and at others demonstrated a clear skill. He occasionally fell back on the Bernard Cornwall tropes, but is clearly developing his own style..

    Mster of War

A grphic decription of life in medieval England and France. Brings the history taught in school to life. Fascinating!
