  • Highly recommended!

Bill and Karen are just regular people trying to survive a wicked recession that takes all of their previous lives. Being left a house on Mateguas Island by his aunt Bill is relieved, but Karen craves the city life. Their twins seem to settle in better, for the adults bring their own unwanted luggage. At first, all seems almost normal. Just one or two things appear slightly out of kilter and this could just be a result of island life. Gradually the curse left by an old Indian woman plays out with devastating consequences to the relationship and the little family as a whole. The characterization was stunning. While neither Bill, nor Karen is a perfect person, they are both very real, warts and all. As the action and threat escalate each of them grows in their own way to meet the ultimate challenge. This is not a book to read late at night if a person wishes to sleep. It is highly charged and full of mystery. It is impossible not to keep turning the pages.

Really enjoyed this book . The action just kept mounting. The plot had me torn between the experiences of the husband and wife. Enjoyed the suspense of possible out comes .There was a happy outcome after all and an unexpected ending .Can't wait to read part two.
