  • A sizzling start to the trilogy!

I received an ARC of Maybe Yes from Ms. Miles, and this is my honest review. Kinsley is a 21 year old model who is attending Yale while modeling for several magazines, and she's a hotel heiress. Her family owns and runs some major casinos in Las Vegas. For many years, she has always known that she will have to marry whoever is picked by her father and grandfather. When her father suddenly dies, Kinsley finds that not only is her world turned upside down, but she now has to marry sooner rather than later. When Kinsley escapes to another casino to drown her sorrows in gaming, she meets Killian. Killian is a young man who knows what he wants and goes after it. After a night of sensual conquests, Kinsley feels a bit more prepared to stand up to her grandfather about who and when she will marry. Even though their attraction and sexual tension draws them toward each other, Kinsley and Killian each want different things. When Kinsley realizes that the man she is to wed is Killian, she becomes furious at the games that are being played. Kinsley wants to marry for love, and Killian does not want to marry at all. I absolutely LOVE Killian. His alpha, take no prisoners attitude just drew me in. He is a man who knows his worth and demands it. I liked Kinsley, but I felt like she needed a bit more backbone. The story line drew me in and held me captivated. The characters were excellently written, and the steamy scenes were intense and heart-stopping. I must warn you that this does end in a MAJOR cliffhanger! I highly recommend this book to those 18+ due to language and sexual scenes. Thank you Ms. Miles for allowing me to enter and be enthralled in your Las Vegas world. I can not wait to find out what happens next.

  • What a way to start!

I wasn't sure what to think when I started reading Kinsley and Killian's tale of attraction and betrayal. The dramatic back and forth banter and emotional immaturity of Kinsley threw me off, irritated me to the point I wanted just to put the Kindle down, and walk away. Yet fit her persona. ( I suppose ) I felt that the secondary characters play a much more significant role in shaping her and the storyline as a whole, which intrigued me, kept me wanting to see how Kinsley's plan would clash with the ones set in place by Killian and her family. So I kept on, still unsure, but swept up in the story swiping pages, watching the twisted, unique, heated scenes play out before me ending with one hanging off the edge cliffhanger that ensures I will be grabbing the next book to see where this madness leads!

  • Successfully transported me deeply into this world

I both love and hate it when I get to the end of a book and I don’t know what to say. I hate it because, well, I always have something to say and when I’m speechless I feel all off center. But I love it because it means that an author has successfully transported me deeply into their world, to the point that my real life doesn’t quite fit right until I recover from the story hangover. I spent half this story loving Kinsley and Killian and the other half wanting to strangle them – or at least try to shake some sense into them. Even knowing that this is part one of the series, it’s still a very steep and abrupt cliff I fell off of at the end of the book. I am very invested in seeing where this story goes next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
