    Compassion in practice

I loved this book, the true stories were heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Proof that people can change and do overcome the tragedies that happen to us all. A bright light of a book, brimming with compassion.

    Great read!

Interesting to learn how a therapist helps others while navigating her own ups and downs. Stop wasting time and buy this book!

    Talk to someone

This book is very moving and left me with a lot to think about. The warm accepting relationship which developes into a kind of love between client and therepist provides the roots from which change grows. The writing style is never dry has humour. I recomend this book to anyone with an interest in thd

Great story about therapy and humanity

Like always a good book takes you on a journey. This was a great journey in which Lori managed to enjoy her story and that of her patients but also allowed me to take a closer look into myself and guide me along the way. In short a great read.

    ****

I enjoyed this one. I always find it fascinating to get a ‘peek behind the curtain’, a glimpse into the personal lives of others. As a person who has been to therapy, it was interesting to hear from a psychotherapist about their personal methods in session and reasonings behind it. It encouraged me to look back at my sessions, when I didn’t agree with the therapist or felt challenged, to see these conversations in a new light. Lori also makes sure to pepper in some really beautiful insights about life, love, and loss throughout - there were times I felt like I was in session with her, that’s how personal it felt. If you’ve been on the fence about therapy, this book will likely get you off of it.
