  • Just Gets Better

I love this series even after so many books it’s still laugh out loud funny and a super entertaining story. “Yeah,” Bricker said with a grin. “We drop like flies around Marguerite.” Mac is a immortal and a scientist. CJ is thrown into his life after a house fire nearly kills him. She has been turned off men for a while but he temps her. “Look!” He smacked the hard stomach he’d revealed and growled, “I am not soft and flabby.” Marguerite is up to her old tricks again this time heavily pregnant. Lots of our old favorites show up for another sexy hilarious good time.

  • Enjoyed!

This was a pretty entertaining book to read. The hero and his family are all immortals. When Mac finds his life mate, he and his family had to find a way to be around her and still keep hidden what they are. Then you throw in the way CJ kept trying to shake him off, and that is what made this fun to read. CJ is a pretty closed off heroine and that can make it difficult to enjoy a dance like this. What was fortunate is the way Mac and his family navigated around her isolation to embed them into her life. Mac is more laid back, and went with the flow. I wouldn't call this guy an Alpha but I still liked him. I am a bit late to the Argeneau series party, but I like that you don't have to read these books in order to enjoy one of them. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, but I can guarantee you will get a kick out of some of the side characters enough that you will want to check out more in this series.

  • Kept turning pages to see what happened next!

This was my first Argeneau book, and I wasn't sure what to expect jumping into a series with so many books before that I hadn't yet read that came before. However, Lynsay Sands is an amazing writer and does a great job of not having you feel like you are missing information. I was able to figure things out very quickly and follow along just fine! Mac is an immortal, but can be killed by fire. He meets his life mate, CJ, when his house bursts into flames and she is brought in to help investigate the fire. They have a connection and chemistry but CJ, due to past experience, is fighting the attraction and a relationship and Mac has to be resourceful to find a way to knock down the walls she puts up. I very much enjoyed this paranormal, romantic suspense story and kept turning pages to find out what would happen next. Definitely plan to go back and read from the beginning! Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I have voluntarily left an honest review.
