    What a struggle!

I found the first 2/3 of the story very difficult to get through. The sentances & paragraphs would go on endlessly, with very little punctuation. This had an effect of making me just want to get through to the next break in the story and wondering if this seemingly endless version of angst would ever end. The last bit picked up pace, or maybe it was just me being happy to see that the end was near.

    Milkman

Painful to read.... maybe I’ll finish it someday when I’m desperate for something different to read. It drags on and on and on.

    Milkman

I do not hate the book. I understand the turmoil in Ireland. This piece of literature is very difficult to get through. It just appears to ramble on. I have no doubt that people who have the opportunity to live there and experience life there can relate to this book. With all due respect, it did not capture my interest, and was difficult to read.

    Brilliant and page-turning.

How many times do you read a book that you can’t put down AND that is so brilliantly written. I follow Middle Sister around and want to know every drama that happens to her
