I would love to work the Night Shift in this book

Lauren Rowe has written a unique story in Misadventures on the Night Shift. She filled it with memorable characters who burrow their way into your heart. The chemistry is off the charts and the quick wit and all out sass is unbelievable. Abby is going to law school and working at night at a hotel. Though she never gets much sleep, she appreciates the dead zone of the night shift because it allows for her to keep up on her studies. The last thing she expects one evening is for a cocky rockstar to appear. Of course, he doesn't think the rules apply to him, so it is up to Abby to put him in his place. And boy does she succeed. Lauren Rowe is a magic maker. I could not put this book down. I cannot wait to see what her brilliant mind comes up with next!

...you NEED this ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!! ASAP!!

5+ INSANELY SEXY, Bad-Boy-Rock-Star-Fantasy Stars!!! Lauren Rowe has, once again, written a book that has absolutely INVADED my heart and my soul with Misadventures on the Night Shift! This EXPLOSIVELY erotic love story took me on a roller coaster ride from the first page to the last...one that I didn't want to end! If you are familiar with Lauren's writing style, you won't be surprised by the twists and turns this story takes...this is signature Lauren Rowe (and THEN some!) It's FILLED to the brim with heat, humour and touches your soul with the emotion she invokes through her words! You FEEL everything as though you are right there...right beside the hero and the heroine, going through ALL the struggles, ALL the emotions, right to the completely satisfying HEA! And did I mention the INCREDIBLY HAWT and SMEXY scenes that had me wishing I lived in a MUCH cooler climate?! Lucas Ford, frustrated (and EXTREMELY bad-boy) rocker is, without a doubt, one of my FAVE rocker heroes to date! He is sexy, smoldering and INTENSE-TO-THE-MAX....but he's also sweet, thoughtful, kind and when he loves, he loves with his WHOLE heart! Abby Medford, struggling law student working the night shift at a hotel (which allows her to study during the dead hours), who has overcome some issues in her past meets her teen idol in the lobby one fateful night....the ensuing banter (also signature Lauren Rowe) had me rolling with laughter, until she had me fanning myself frantically, trying to cool off my raging hormones with the HOTTER-THAN-HOT aforementioned sex scenes!! I can honestly say I TOTALLY and COMPLETELY LOVED this book from one of ALL-TIME favourite authors....and you NEED this ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!! ASAP!!

    Disappointing

I really wanted to like this rockstar romance, but in all honesty, I didn't find much romance or much to like about the characters. When Abby meets Lucas, she's snarky and quick to put him in his place, and I thought that she would be a character I could enjoy reading about. However, it doesn't take long before she starts coming across as more of a doormat than anything else and when her past issues are revealed, I found it hard to believe she would have so readily accepted Lucas' offer. Instead of romance, I found a girl who is face to face with her teenage crush and rockstar used to getting his way and willing to take full advantage of a situation. To sum it up, the more I read, the more I felt like I was reading a Pretty Woman knock-off without the chemistry or romance. In addition to that, there's the fact that the book went on for some time after the week was over, so by the time this pair did see each other again to get their happy ending, it was just too little, too late. I will add that the conclusion did have the potential for romance if it hadn't taken so long to get there, but that was blown by Lucas' comment about the many other women he's had while they were apart, which wouldn't have been nearly as bad if Abby hadn't been naked and in his arms at the time. Overall, I'd have to say that yes, the steamy scenes were quite vivid, but the story was a disappointment.

This book is has heart, is hot and was engaging!

**Advanced copy provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** So, I might have said the last book in the Misadventures series was my favorite to date, but it's been replaced. I LOVED this book. Not only was it hot, it had heart and the story was very engaging. Abby Medford is putting herself through law school and in order to do so, she works full time on the night shift at a posh Denver hotel. It's the perfect set-up for her because during the long night shifts she has the opportunity to study so she can keep up with the classes she goes straight to every morning. Lucas Ford is one of the most recognizable rock stars out there and he's just had one of the biggest meltdowns of his career. Owing his record label a new album, he ends up at a high-end hotel where he plans to stay for the week to knock out the songs for the new album. The only problem is he isn't inspired in the least. He's got to find a muse. When Abby dares to stand up to the rule-breaking Lucas, he realizes that there might be more to this woman than meets the eye. Lucas ends up brokering a deal with her to spend time with him during the week, which leads to them connecting and with Lucas having a breakthrough with his songwriting, but the catch is there is a definite end to their relationship. Will these two realize that they've never been more themselves than when they are with one another or will they let their agreement dictate how their future will play out? This was my first Lauren Rowe book, and I loved it. I enjoyed it because there was heat, there was heart and there were struggles and revelations experienced by both Lucas and Abby. I also really liked how realistic the end of the story was. This wasn't a quick resolution, it played out like it could have in the real world and I appreciated that. This is definitely a great read!

    sexy

I keep wanting to love this series but so far the books have been alright this one is no different. There is so much that could have been done with Abby but it didn't happen. The story wasn't awful but because I enjoy a stronger female, like she started off as, I was disappointed that the author didn't make her and them as a hole stronger. The story was hot and had some pretty passionate scenes I just wanted more from the character, but that doesn't make it a bad story.
