  • I highly recommend thi delicious, satisfying read

Colonel Sir Orion Goddard begs for Miss Ann Pearson's assistance with a thorny and embarrassing issue concerning one of his rescued street urchins. When she quickly resolves his issue in a sensitive and caring manner, he finds himself already attracted to her. But she has worked hard to achieve her position as undercook in Orion’s brother-in-law’s fancy Coventry Club restaurant and gaming hall and is loathe to give up her hard earned progress. Orion, meanwhile, while wanting to court Ann, has his own problems as the target of persistent rumors regarding his military service, and is loathe to drag her into his dangerous problems. Family assistance, dogged determination on both their parts, and love finally lead Orion and Ann to their well deserved HEA. Ms. Burrowes has a knack of immersing the reader in the story from the first paragraph. Her characters are so immediately likable, that the reader cares about their story and is invested their resolution from the first page. Her stories are also complex and fleshed out enough that midway through the book, the reader can see no possible way the H and h will end up together, and yet, they always do! I highly recommend the delicious, satisfying read that is Miss Delectable. This book was provided by the author without any requirement for a review, positive or otherwise. All opinions are 100% my own.

  • Outstanding Historical Romance

Miss Delectable is a phenomenal historical romance by Grace Burrowes. Ms. Burrowes has provided readers with a well-written book populated with lovable, quirky characters. Rye, Colonel Sir Orian Goddard, now out of service, is a businessman that has taken in a gaggle of ragtag children. He also looks after a contingent of elderly emigrants and family members. Ann Pearson is a cook at the Coventry. When one of Rye's minions is hurt and insists on only Miss Pearson, Rye sends for her. Ann and Rye's story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Miss Delectable and look forward to reading more from Grace Burrowes in the future. Miss Delectable is book 1 of the Mischief in Mayfair Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

  • Great start for a new series

A successful launch of two endearing characters joining the Dornings in their travails in London. I look forward to reading about Goddard's cousins in Mayfair.

  • Absolutely a "Must read!

An engaging cast of realistic and captivating characters kept me interested and turning pages until I arrived at the end, ready to immediately keep reading more of this fascinating time and place. I felt like I had become part of this community where the practicalities of life are true yet hope filled. This is not your average romance and I'm definitely going to be reading more of master craftswoman Grace Burrows' series as fast as I can get my hands on them as well as buying them for friends! I have not been so engaged in characters in a long time!

    Thanks for your feedback!
