  • Marriage and Murder at Christmas

Savannah’s wedding is fast approaching and she and Gia are finalizing all the plans for the big day, including one final tasting as they nail down the menu for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. Their plates are so full right now that when a woman is murdered at the caterer’s they can’t help but try to figure out what happened, even if it’s the last they they’ll ever do, with no I do. I’ve been reading this series since the very start and love the mystery as well as the natural progression of the lives of the characters. That combination is what makes you feel like each entry is visit with friends you’re catching up with. I ADORE it!

  • Weddings and Mayhem

I loved this cozy mystery. It had it all: great characters, some action, some twists and turns, and of course a sprinkle of romance. What's not to love! Savannah is getting ready to marry the love of her life, Leo. While her and Gia, her best friend, are at the cake tasting, someone screams, and another bride to be collapses, only to die a few minutes later. With a lot of suspects circling around and a lot of people pointing fingers in many directions, Leo and Hunt may actually need Savannah and Gia's meddling to help solve the murder in time for the wedding! I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

  • Great Cozy Mystery

Though this is only the second All-Day Breakfast Cafe book I've read, I absolutely love it. When I read A Waffle Lot of Murder, I fell in love with the characters, and it's a cozy mystery that stuck with me. As you know, I read lots and lots of books, so there are times when I completely forget a book I've read. That one was a Halloween-themed cozy, and Mistletoe Cake Murder is a Christmas-themed one! I think books revolving around holidays stick with me more....that and food! In Mistletoe Cake Murder, there's obviously going to be lots of food since what's supposed to be calmly happening is preparations for Savannah's wedding. That means food and cake! And it's Christmas, so that means more food! Then don't forget the restaurant...more food. You get the picture. Prepare to snack while you read this one. Sadly, one of those foods is tied with a murder when another bride to be samples a slice of cake. And, of course, Gia and Savannah happen to be there which means they'll get involved! I mean, they'd get involved anyway, but... This was a really quick read for me because it kept me turning the pages with interest. I still love the Boggy Creek, Florida setting, though I do think I'd briefly miss snow at Christmas. Trevor, another of Gia and Savannah's friends, makes up for the lack of snow though at his beautiful home where the wedding is held, so I'd just have to have Trevor as a friend too. The family atmosphere in the cafe and among the friends definitely adds to the coziness of this book. You'll love solving the mystery along with the characters, but if you're like me, you'll mostly love the Christmas-y cheer (and regular cheer!). I am so looking forward to reading more books in this series and trying out the recipes the author includes! I think you cozy mystery lovers will be delighted with Mistletoe Cake Murder.

  • Fun Cozy Mystery

Thank you NetGalley, Lena Gregory and Kensington Books for the book Mistletoe Cake Murder. This is my personal review. This is the first book I have read in this series, and I have to say after reading this book I am excited to go back and start the series with book one. Gia and Savanna are two woman I want to get to know better. I like the way they just click together. The author makes them feel like someone I have known for a long time even with this being the only book I have read in the series. The mystery was so well written, and I thought I had it figured out who did it but was I wrong! Thank you, Lena Gregory, for this series that is new to me. I have put this series on my birthday wish list for my husband to buy me. That solves the mystery for him of what to get me this year!

    Thanks for your feedback!
