    Fun, quick and charming

Emma Straub's new novel is a charming and witty portrait of old friends who are struggling with their marriages, their children, and the shadow of their famous and dead former bandmate. This was a fun, quick-paced read with relatable characters and smart writing. Straub really knows how to write relatable characters - her teenagers are particularly sharp - and I enjoyed the warmth and humour she uses to tackle old wounds, first love and the stress of long-buried secrets.
