    The World Has Changed

Monsterland would never be the same. The people in town were speechless by the newest turn of events. It was going to take a long time to rebuild the town. Carter took charge and with Wyatt's help, he's finding out just how bad things are. Were they the only ones left? Great writing. Sensational story line. Characters well defined and relate-able. This book pulls you in for the ride of your life. I found it interesting and unusual. Mr. Okon knows just how to get your heart racing, your pulse pounding and your imagination working overtime. This book will stick with you and make you consider what could happen in our world today. Get this book for your TBR pile. I found no issues. I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 cheers because it's the perfect Halloween read. ~Copy of book provided by author and I voluntarily reviewed it.

    Monsterland Reanimated

I really enjoyed the first installment from Michael Okon’s Monsterland series, also, called Monsterland. So, I was excited to get my hands on the following up to it, Monsterland Reanimated. I highly recommend for readers to begin the series from the beginning so they can get a better grasp with what is going on. I do not think it would work well as a stand alone. Monsterland Renanimated continues with high school Wyatt Baldwin trying to save the world from the monsters. I once again had to strap myself down to enjoy this wild thrill of a tale. It is action packed with a few twists and turns I did not expect or did not see coming. This time around he encounters more than he thought possible. He goes on quite the adventure to try to find help and his journey brings on more horror. Behemoths and The Glob are the last things he wanted to deal with right now. After reading the first book, I learned the author’s writing style and was able to read this one in just a few hours. I thought it was better and more entertaining, if that is possible. Monsterland Reanimated is getting five plus stars from me. I was excited to find out that there will be a third addition to the Monsterland series. I look forward to when that one releases to see what will happen next. I recommend this one for readers who enjoy science fiction and stories that involve fictional monsters. I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

A great ride of a read!

It’s been weeks since the destruction of the world, which we know exploded in Monsterland, the first book in this series, as the survivors start to pick up the pieces. It’s been weeks since the megalomaniac Vincent Konrad was pulled apart by one of his own monsters. It’s been weeks, and everything has been quiet. ...Or has it? Something—or maybe many things—survived the destruction of Monsterland, and they aren’t quietly going away. No, they’re jump-starting Plan B! Once again, Wyatt and his friends must fight their way to survival and take down the monsters around them. But this time the monsters won’t be so identifiable, and neither will their allies. Join the story's main character, Wyatt, as he encounters new friends, old (but slightly new) friends, and a whole new host of monsters while venturing beyond the borders of Copper Valley in an attempt to save those who are still alive. Scream in terror as they learn why surrounding towns are suddenly filled with bodies. Shrink in fright as Plan B is revealed. And shout encouragement to Wyatt and his crew as they fight back. Opinion: Monsterland Reanimated is a great ride of a read! It picks up right at the end of the first in the series and leaves the reader ready for the next adventure! The author does an excellent job of establishing characters, as the reader really gets a feel for why they make the decisions they do. This includes the pure mania that is Vincent Konrad and the idol worship that is Igor. I did not read the first in the series, and doing so would have helped me fully understand the details of this novel. Events and characters are often referred to from the previous novel, and that would have given me more insight into the unfoldings in this second installment. Due to violence, I recommend this book for readers, age 12 and up, who love science fiction, action, and especially monsters!

    Props for two great books!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first book, Monsterland and was excited to see where this second book would take us. In the first book (you could probably get away with reading the second book without the first although I don’t recommend it), the suspense and thrill was towards the end of the book. Monsterland Reanimated jumps in pretty quickly to edge of your seat suspense. The story line picks up essentially where the first book left off with only a few weeks passing since the first book ended. It sort of felt like a cross between The Walking Dead, Twilight and Frankenstein – all wrapped up into one story that had my anxiety level soaring. In short – without giving away anything from the first or second book – the world is in complete chaos with no one in control. It’s “every man for themselves”. There was definitely some violence, blood and gore… I’m not sure I would recommend it for my readers (ages 11 and 14), but would be okay with the “older” young adult age range. And certainly a good read for adults who like the paranormal, monster fantasy with suspense and thrill. Short of a full blown anxiety attack, I enjoyed it! It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen. And let me quick add – Michael Okon has one heck of an imagination. Props for two great books!

    Evil is as evil does...

Just when you thought the world couldn’t get any worse than Monsterland…well, Friday the 13th rolls around and we are faced with the aftermath of Vincent Conrad’s craziness that was Monsterland! Evil is as evil does. Nothing will be the same. All the monsters were let loose and exterminated. The army has left the area and people are trying to deal with the aftermath of losing many loved ones. Wyatt and his friends are set on a task to try and establish contact and to find out what is going on outside of Copper Valley. He and his friends find that they have to grow up rather fast as they are faced with monsters of the human variety. One of my favorite parts is that he finds Melvin!!!! I will say no more as to his role in all of this but it was very exciting for me.  This rag tag group of teens face the Glob and slowly but surely figures out what is going on while joining up with another group that is going back to Monsterland to try and stop what is being re-started. Now we have mummies and Area 51 to deal with along with a re-animated Vincent Conrad. Some parts felt a little far-fetched to me with the introduction of some characters/monsters but it all fits into place at the end. With so many other “monsters” coming out in this installment I can’t wait to continue Wyatt’s journey after Monsterland Reanimated!
