    So good

5 Star Review of Moonlighter (The Company #1) by Sarina Bowen Where do I start? From chapter one I was all in with Eric and Alex’s story. Hockey and suspense, what a great combination. Eric and Alex, are two halves of a whole; they are simply meant to be. Eric is a professional hockey player, off for the summer, and now it seems thanks to his brother, he has added security specialist to his list of accomplishments despite his protests. However all that changes when he finds out the woman he is being asked to protect is childhood friend Alex. Alex is feisty, sassy and I really loved her. I fell hard and fast for Eric, he is just so swoon worthy that you cannot help but fall for him. The chemistry between Eric and Alex is sizzling and intense. Not only was it romantic but there was also drama and suspense that had me intrigued. This was a well written, steamy, fast paced story with characters you cannot help but like and relate too. I cannot wait to see who is next in this series.

    Humorous, romantic, and suspenseful!

Moonlighter is a smart, seductive tale that features the cocky, handsome, hockey player Eric who reluctantly turns amateur protector for an old friend, and the driven, independent Alex whose new tech project has suddenly made her a large target for hackers worldwide. The prose is witty and light. The characters are spirited, amusing, and lovable. And the plot is an entertaining combination of family, friendship, temptation, desire, sizzling chemistry, palpable attraction, sexy times, and a sliver of danger. Overall, Moonlighter is a fresh, fun, steamy start for this new series by Bowen that will not only please fans of her previous Brooklyn Bruisers novels, but will also warm the heart, have you laughing out loud, and will without a doubt leave you eager for more.

Loved it from start to finish

5 stars — I don’t know what it is about Ms. Bowen and this world, but I’m seriously loving it… and loving where it’s going with this spin off. So many possibilities!! Eric and Alex are both delightful and easy to connect with. Alex is so hardworking and brilliant, it really comes across in the book. I also loved having a female CEO in a tech company to read about…as someone who has worked in that industry, the good ole boys club is real, though it’s slowly changing. I loved seeing her take on the sexist executives. And I appreciated her struggle to balance her career with impending motherhood. She was simultaneously fierce and vulnerable. Eric was not what I was expecting, though I’m not sure what I was expecting. But the balance in his personality between grumpy and taciturn with a dry wit and confidence just played out perfectly. I felt for him facing these changes in his life, and not having his family’s support with his career choices, and his obviously different goals and dreams. But he was just really solid, with everyone… from teammates, to his family, to Alex. And the real surprise for me was how he doted on Alex… you could really feel how much he cared for her. The two of them together were truly the highlight of the story. From their physical chemistry, to the relationship that built on a long ago friendship, I just loved them together. My favourite part was how often they laughed in steamy scenes…it just delighted me. Seriously, they balanced one another so well, and had so many fun moments together. Their banter was beyond. The suspense/action elements added a lot to the story, and I think I’m really going to love this new series. And so many great new secondary characters!! I’m sensing a Max and Scout story (definitely the Nate/Becca of this series), and I desperately hope Duff gets a book too!!! So yeah…this book sucked me right in, I LOVED it from start to finish.

Great start to a new series

This is the first book in a new series by Sarina Bowen, with connections to the Brooklyn Bruisers series. I always look forward to more from this author and in this case I cannot wait for future stories in The Company. What an awesome cast of characters, something Sarina Bowen always does well and makes me love her writing even more. Eric was a terrific, funny, loyal hero. These two together just worked - as friends, as a couple, great chemistry. As you can tell, I liked everything about this book. Whether you are a longtime Sarina Bowen reader, or new to her books, I recommend this one!

    Hands down an absolute favorite!!

5 plus stars Romantic suspense with a side of steam, great entertaining banter and amazing characters made this story an absolute pleasure to read! Alex and Eric have found a place in my heart and I loved everything about them! The suspense had my heart all a thumping and I wondered in which direction the story would go! Its a definite must read in my opinion and if this is how the first book of the series will be, no doubt we have some great writing to look forward to! Hands down an absolute favorite of 2019!!
