Sometimes life gives you just the right thing

More Than Love You by Shayla Black is book three in her More Than Words series. It can be read as a standalone. Characters from previous books do make appearances though. The series itself centers on the Reed siblings: Maxon, Griffin, and Harlow. This book stars the youngest, Harlow. Noah Weston, a quarterback for ten years, has retired after his last football injury. Needing time to lay low after his injury has left him with moments where he is unable to speak during times of stress and fatigue, he has moved to Hawaii to evaluate his future. Having bought his dream house, he is completely surprised when he arrives early to see the woman from his fantasies lounging by the pool. Harlow Reed has been housesitting the estate her brothers' just sold for the last month and is surprised when the gorgeous owner arrives early. Instant attraction sparks between them but before things can go further, Harlow notices Noah's speech predicament. Soon she finds herself offering her services as a speech therapist to help him prepare for his interview as a sports commentator. Her new role in Noah's life doesn't stop their attraction though. Instead it gives them both the opportunity to learn more about each other and what follows is a hot and emotional romance filled with drama especially when Harlow's past comes to light, the Reed parents, and a few more surprises that keep the story on its toes. More Than Love You is a well-written and evenly paced romance novel with complex characters who pull at your heartstrings. This is the first book I read in the series, but after reading about Harlow and her brothers pasts, it makes me want to read the previous books so I can see how Maxon and Griffin got their happy endings too. Noah and Harlow are great leading characters with great chemistry. I love how Noah is all-in with his relationship and feelings for Harlow from the start. He's willing to do what he can to help Harlow when she needs him. He also doesn't give up on Harlow and their love when she starts to pull away because of her past. I love that. Overall, More Than Love You by Shayla Black is a romantic and enjoyable novel. I happily recommend. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

quite honestly my favorite so far

Who knew escaping to paradise would mean finding love? New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shayla Black’s More Than Love You is the third book in the More Than Words series and is quite honestly my favorite so far. I do recommend reading the first two books beforehand to understand the Reed family dynamic and get to know the characters that make appearances. Scandal has both Noah Weston and Harlow Reed hiding out at a private ocean-front property. Neither is looking for a relationship, but they decide to use their passion and attraction to present themselves as a supportive and loving couple until the scandals pass over. But what happens when the ruse is over, and they realize it more? This book has the roles reversed. The male character is usually the one shying away from love, but not Noah. No once he realizes what he feels, he then makes it his mission to convince Harlow that she feels the same. But he has a hard road ahead of him with that. Harlow’s outlook on love has been destroyed. She has built the walls surrounding her heart high. But if anyone can break them down or find a way over them its Noah. I love the inclusion of Harlow’s brothers Maxon and Griff and their wives into the story. It was like visiting family and catching up a bit. Shayla has written another fully captivating book within this series. As always, I loved it and I cannot wait to see what she gives me next. Five Scandalous stars!!!

    More than a great book

This was my favorite book in this series. I don’t know who is my favorite character Harlow or Noah, they are both worth rooting for. Noah is great and is just trying to figure what is going on with after his last concussion, can Harlow help him in to his retirement and his next career. Harlow just wants to hide out and sex, but is that all. These two are great together and the twists and turns. The way that the pregnancy scare with the “gold Digger” is great. Shayla Black has not disappointed with an absolutely wonderful book that I could not put down.

    Hot!!!

Noah has just retired from pro football due to some residual effects from the last concussion he received. He's not ready to leave football but he's not sure he can accept the commentary job with the issues he is having. Harlow found out her fiance was cheating on her with his assistant and has a baby on the way. She breaks off her wedding in the most epic way and needs to hide out for a bit. Noah comes home to his new house he just bought to find a stunning woman sunbathing poolside and finds out she is the house sitter. There is instant chemistry between the two and while Noah sweet talks Harlow into staying the night, he realizes one night isn't going to be enough. This book was such a treat for me. It had all my wishlist items. My favorite thing to read is where the Hero chases the heroine. I just don't see that enough in romance books. For once, the heroine was the one that was hesitant to commit. While Noah is dealing with his speech issues, Harlow is dealing with some major trust issues that date far back. There is some push/pull in this story due to Harlow's lack of trust. I do think she pushes a bit too much, but I don't even care because it just showed how much Noah loved and wanted Harlow in his life. This was just what I was looking for!

Super sexy, Alpha male, exciting romance

Noah and Harlow are captivating. Both show an extremely tough exterior and have a confidence about them but they each have weathered some storms putting doubt into their lives and the direction each is headed. Their initial meeting is wonderful as Noah finds Harlow enjoying his pool after having just purchased a new house. There is a connection between them and as they get to know each other, it seems Harlow, as a speech therapist, can help Noah with a problem. Harlow needs to hide from the world after a most interesting wedding debacle. Noah has the room and since he needs her help, his house is the logical place. Of course, can these two keep their hands off each other. The sex is intense, totally Alpha male and delicious to devour. Add in crazy family drama for Harlow to provide intense drama. Her parents are utterly shocking. A beautiful journey that shows people do enter your life when you truly need them most.
