    Thanks for your feedback!

Laurel has been too responsible for too many things for far too long. She has put her live on hold to take care of her Mom, Dad, younger sister and the family business after a family tragedy. She felt secure in handling everything and everyone else, and she did it well. It threw her for a loop when she discovered she was so insecure when it came to handling her own life. The characters are wonderfully written and it is easy to indentify with each of them. It is a heartwarming journey to watch Laurel come to realize that what she wants and needs are important too. I love the humor and anxiety Donna writes in her books. Her emotions and situations are real.

    Good Story

This story takes place near where I live. I really liked the description of the area. I liked the characters and the story, and the romance was great!

    Decent

It was hard to get into this story. The characters felt a little flat (and a lot obtuse), and it was heavy on describing things. Very much told, rather than showed. Not a bad story, just not a great one either.

    Meh...

I mean, I finished it. I didn't rage quit, so that deserves at least two stars. However, I really am not sure why I did. Maybe it was just the romanization of Oakland, Maryland that I found funny. Maybe it was the hope that one, just one, of the characters would show a spark of life beyond the typical uninteresting cliche role for them. At no point did I think "yes, that is exactly what a normal person would do in that situation". I wasn't even looking for smart characters, just basic common sense rather than characters obviously driven by a cliched plot. But no. I ended the story confused and disappointed. The best part about this story, is that it was very short and requires zero brain power to read.
