    Murder in thrall

Ive read the first two now...all the ingredients for heart pounding suspence in every sense with a snort of romance. Characters and plot well fleshed out.

Don't play cards with this woman

An extremely charming character. Pay close attention at the beginning especially to her asides. Poor me ,it took forever to realise what happened in the first few chapters. I've read three of these books now and I like the progression. No spoilers here. A clever concept with a lot of laugh out louds.

    Underwhelming

It pains me to say this, but this book wasn't very good. Perhaps the series gets better as it moves along, but I didn't like the first book enough to read further. I found the characters to be very one-dimensional and uninteresting, while the murder plot seemed secondary to the detectives' personal lives. The DCI, Acton, is nicknamed Holmes in the book, which felt appropriate; the story focused more on the DC, Doyle, while Acton went out to solve the murder, much like the Sherlock Holmes mysteries stay with Watson while Holmes is out solving the crime before his big reveal. Disappointing, for sure.

    enjoyable but bit strange

I enjoyed the book, Liked also the main characters although I felt the story a bit far fetched, can not imagine any Police Inspector being able to get away with what Michael did getting rid of dead people. Other wise I enjoyed the book

    Murder in thrall

I found the genre confused and the characters unbelievable. why on earth did the heroine insist on referring to herself as the fair doyle. they behaved as if they were in some medieval melodrama.
