  • I love this author and her work!

Jane Steward is hosting a group of Poets at Storyton Hall, with the participants hoping to score a job as the writer of greeting cards. When one of the front runners is found dead, and staged as poetry, she and the Fins and Cover Girls do their best to help the sheriff find a murderer. When a second front runner is found floating in a large mud puddle, they step up their efforts to find the murderer before the even is over and, more importantly, before Eloise’s wedding. Poets often bare their soul, did the killer do that this time as well? Jane and the gang hope to find the culprit through their work. Will they find the guilty party before any of them become haiku or poem themselves. I love this author. She ALWAYS refers to literary works to tell her stories and brings bibliophiles the exact blended dose of mystery and quotes from other authors’ works. Well written, well researched and a fabulous read every single time!

  • Not the Series for Me

Ellery Adams is one of my favorite authors. Her writing draws me in every time, which is probably why I’ve stuck with this series so long. While the mystery is well-constructed and interesting, there’s something about the setting and the writing with this particular series that just seems so overly flowery and borderline cheesy to me. I just can’t connect with this series, as much as I try, and this is probably the last one I will read.

  • Great read

Storytime Hall is full of poets vying for a coveted job with a greeting card company. As Jane helps the owners of the card company organize the different events that will lead up to their winner and a job offer, she is also preparing for her best friend's wedding. So when one a the guest turns up murdered, Jane and the Fins are determined to help the sheriff solve the murder before the guests are due to check out and Eloise and Landon’s wedding. I love the setting of Storyton Hall. This would be an ideal place for a reader to vacation, well except for the occasional murder or two. Jane, her sons, the Fins, and the Cover Girls (Jane’s friend and book club members) are interesting, smart, and likable characters. Jane is not only smart at managing a resort, but does it while raising twin pre-teen boys, and helping solve murders. The Fins are loyal to Jane and her family, they will do whatever it takes to keep the family safe and Storyton Hall’s secret protected. The Cover Girls are each unique in their own ways and a great group of friends, they celebrate one another and are are there for each other in times of need. The mystery is well-paced, with plenty of suspects and surprises to keep you guessing whodunnit and why. I recommend this book to cozy mystery fans. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been by anyone.

  • I loved it

If I could simply use one word for how I feel about this series of books, it would be "Wow"! I have always enjoyed this series, and I am continually impressed this latest offering was above and beyond my expectations. This book grabbed me from the first page and did not let go. The characters and setting are written vividly and are intriguing. The whodunit and suspects kept me enthralled and guessing! I strongly suggest you read this series in order, to fully appreciate it. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
