  • Interesting but overwrought

This novel and the preceding installment are both exciting, tightly plotted with fascinating worldbuilding and plenty of twists and turns. However, I am not sold on the writing, which was overly flowery and bent on explaining every facet of the author's world and characters to her readers. Taylor never used one word where ten would do, and left little or nothing to interpretation. It felt like she didn't trust or respect the reader enough to pick up on the subtleties of her story. That being said, I couldn't put either of the books in this series down!

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Lovely

Laini Taylor is a master world builder (worlds builder) and Muse is no exception.
