5 Star Review My Almost Ex (The Greene Family #2) by Piper Rayne Having read the first book in this latest series from Piper Rayne I couldn’t wait to be back with the Greene family in Sunrise Bay, Alaska. This time Adam and Lucy and their second chance at love story is front and centre and what a story it was. Adam was left reeling when Lucy up and left him over a year ago as he thought they were happy. Now Lucy is back and it appears she has amnesia and thinks that they are happily married. Poor Adam, he is just starting to come out of the darkness that her leaving left him in and now here she is back again as if nothing has happened. Lucy is desperate to regain her memories of life in Sunrise Bay and I had a hard time putting this one down as I had to know what had happened. There were times that my heart almost broke for both Adam and Lucy and although there was humour their was a great deal of emotion as well. The Greene’s are a blended family and I loved how much interaction there was between them all, regardless of whether they are full, half or step siblings this family has each others back. The story was fast paced, witty and engaging and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

  • Worth the read!

It's always a good time when I get to go back to visit Alaska via Piper Rayne and the Greene family! Adam and Lucy were high school sweethearts who married young and seemed to have it all together. They were happy, they were in love and then all of a sudden Lucy dropped the bomb that she was no longer happy with the life she was living and she walked out on Adam. Fast-forward a year and Adam is just beginning to figure out how to live without the love of his life. He's got a new girlfriend, who he has just introduced to his family, and he's finally taking steps toward being happy again. That is until Lucy walks in and lays claim to her husband! While Lucy and Adam are still technically married, Adam is completely befuddled. He learns that after a fall, Lucy has developed amnesia and while she remembers people, she doesn't remember specifics or life events. In her mind she and Adam are still married and happy. Adam makes the decision to help Lucy as she searches for answers. Will these two that seemed so destined to be forever be able to overcome whatever made Lucy leave in the first place and her amnesia? I always enjoy Piper Rayne's books. They give you an escape and it's always so much fun to revisit the Greene family, along with Ethel and Dori! They are always good for a laugh or two! Looking forward to the next one in this series - Piper and Rayne have definitely set the stage for us!

  • swoony and steamy

Piper Rayne has delivered another swoony and heart melting romance in My Almost Ex. I absolutely loved Adam and Lucy and their special love story. The small town romance magic was on point and I always had a smile on my face!Piper Rayne maintains an excellent balance of swoony and steamy in their books. You will get the deep emotions and the witty moments equally in My Almost Ex. (I reviewed an early copy voluntarily)

  • Loved the way this was written with the flashbacks

What happens when the love of your life walks out on you without any explanation and the comes back a year later acting as if nothing has changed? Well, that's the premise we have here with Adam and Lucy's story, and, what a story it is. Lucy and Adam have a long history together and I mean LONG and I loved discovering all of their memorable times together from the age of thirteen up to the time she left as Lucy herself discovered them in flashes as she regained some memories she lost with her amnesia. This story had a few poignant moments the one that was especially moving was the one where she discovered the reason on why she left Adam to begin with. I will be honest and say not only did I cry at this point but I totally understood what she felt and her reasoning behind what she did from personal experience. I loved that we had so much time with Thelma and Louise aka Grandma Ethel and Dori in this book, those two ladies are a HOOT! If you enjoy Second Chance at First Love Romances, Steamy Contemporary Romance, Small Town Romance, or Large Family Romances I would highly recommend this book to you. Happy Reading!!!

  • Great second chance romance

This is the second book of the Greene family series set in Sunrise Bay, Alaska. The Greene’s are a blended family of ten kids, think a modern day Brady Bunch on steroids. This book features Adam, the only married Greene sibling. In the first book of the series Adam’s wife left him with no warning. He was devastated, and now it is a year later and he is ready to move on. When Lucy walks into his brother’s bar and acts like they are still married, he finds out that she has amnesia. This is a nice second chance romance with a bit of a twist. Overall, an enjoyable read and I cannot wait for Nikki’s story. I received an arc of this book from the author for my honest opinion.
