  • Precisely what I hoped it wasn’t

I read this for a book club that so far, hasn’t steered me wrong. So I shouldn’t be too disappointed in how subpar this book was. At a certain point in the book, the author acknowledges that her experience pales in comparison to others who have been victimized by a con artist. She’s absolutely right. This read as the souped up diary of a woman with the connections to get it published. I tried to muster up sympathy for her, or look at things as objectively as possible... it was impossible. Honestly, read the Vanity Fair piece and call it a day.

  • Silly Girl

I read to the end only to hope the author would “snap out of it” but she never did. I’m sorry Rachel but anyone that can get an increase on their credit card, over the phone does not have financial pressures that most people do. Sorry this incident impacted you mentally but really! Just Google this story and save your money. Hopefully this young lady is more careful in the future and not star struck again.

  • Save your money and your time.

I could not finish. This story went around and around and on and on about the same thing. I skipped to the epilogue and still, the same thing. Sex in the City it certainly wasn’t. Sorry for your trouble Rachel, but one paragraph would suffice.

  • Couldn't put it down

Excellent book, full of details to picture yourself there and insights to piece it all together. I don't have a lot of spare time and i found a way to make time for it - just couldn't put it down.

  • A Tale of Lies

This story is so interesting to read and rreflect how we would deal with this situation. Friendships are based on trust so we expect this to be the cornerstone of these relationships. Rachhael warns us that we can be so easily fooled into believing someone is presenting their truthful self to us.
