I really enjoy these characters, and the sweet romance. The story line was touching and emotional, flowing really well. Cant wait for more

    She's my kind

This is book # 2 in the Cedar Ridge series. It can be read on its own, but the reader will find the inside jokes and such are better to understand, if you read them in the order the author has intended. I recommend this, since these books are all terrific! Bailey met Hudson at the resort he works for. It is a family endeavor for Hud. Bailey just wants to complete the mural his mother has hired her to do. He is not sure who to blame - her or his mother. Hudson is just one of the many abandoned children by his father who live at the resort now. He has his family, but he has his share of guilt also. After learning about the tragedy that Bailey has gone through, he is unsure how to move forward. Does he want to move forward? This book was full of love, laughter, and mischef. Really good and really hot! ***This ARC was given by Netgalley.com and its publisher.

    full of mischief and love

I really got caught up in the Kincaids when I read Second Chance Summer and I remember not caring which of the siblings was next because I knew I was going to read their story whoever it was. But I do have to say that I am SO tickled that it is Hud. He is such a rascal that having him meet his match is extra fun. And this story is fantastic! It is one of those slow burns as we get to know both of them while at the same time they are getting know each other. As to be expected, they have hang-ups (understandable & realistic ones) that they have to work their way through. Hud is a great hero - smart, caring, and has taken on so much responsibility. Unfortunately that also he's not very good at letting things go and he carries around a lot with him. His dedication to his mother is absolutely amazing but the guilt over the way his brother left is dragging him down. And while he doesn't have time for much more in his life, between his jobs and family, Bailey definitely gets his attention! I think she is one of my favorite heroines ever and I so wish I could be more like her (of course without going thru what she did to get there). She’s got an amazing love of life, tempered with an interesting, straight-forward wisdom. I think that the HEA moment for her and Hud will go on my list as one of the best I’ve read for a very long time. On a little of a down side I didn’t feel like the siblings were involved as much as in the previous story. I think because Bailey has got such a compelling story that maybe there isn’t much room. Or maybe it was so much like coming home again, after getting to know them so much before, that it was one of those moments where you slipped right in like you never left. They are just as rowdy & in each other’s business, which I loved so much about them. If you’ve never read a Shalvis book, this is a FANTASTIC series to start with. All of the quirky Kincaids and their SOs are delightful – full of mischief and love for one another. They play hard, work hard, love hard and live hard. They don’t have things easy but they have each other and I can’t wait to see what Shalvis dreams up for them. (The next book is about Hud’s twin, Jacob, and since he’s been MIA for years, I’m very interested to find out exactly who he is and what his deal is going to be.) Another great Shalvis story!

I had a fantastic time with this romance. I pulled this book from my virtual stack of past due review books. It was a great book so I have no idea why I waited so long to pick it up and read it. Of course, I have yet to read a Jill Shalvis book that I didn't like so it really is no surprise that I liked this one as much as I did. This is the second book in the Cedar Ridge series but it is easily read as a stand-alone novel. Hud takes his responsibilities very seriously. He takes care of his mother and accepts all of the blame for his brother leaving town. He is very dedicated to his work and seems to be on the clock all the time. He wants no part of the mural for the resort that his mother has arranged. Bailey is ready to embrace life and do all of the things she has had to put off for so long. The first thing on her list that she wants to complete is the mural for the ski resort. The characters in this book were great. Bailey has been through a lot but still has a very positive attitude and is looking forward to her future. Hudson is an incredibly hard worker who is dedicated to his family and doing what is right. Hudson has a large family that also work at the ski resort that played a big part of this story and were all a lot of fun. Bailey's loved ones wanted to protect her and keep her safe even though they didn't always seem to completely support her choices. I loved Hud and Bailey together. The chemistry between them was amazing and I felt like these two really needed each other. Hudson saw Bailey as more than her illness and helped to give her back the sense of normal that she needed. Bailey added the balance to Hudson's life that he didn't realize he needed. I felt like both of these characters came alive every time they were together and I couldn't help but cheer them on towards their happily ever after. I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This was a story filled with great chemistry, touching moments, and a lot of hope. I can't wait to read more from Jill Shalvis! I received a digital review copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing).
