I enjoyed this story of Julia Child and her adventures during a historically interesting time in France and Germany. I found it entertaining and tempted my taste buds by the way she describes some of the dishes she either prepares or tastes at a restaurant. She and her husband lived a life that was adventurous, fun filled and makes me want to travel once again to experience Europe. I liked this book and will continue to learn and enjoy the knowledge about food she so skillfully shared.

My Life in France J. Child

Just finished it. ! ! I did not know that Ms. Child played golf. AND yet got so much more from the book. She is delightful to watch on TV and to read of her travels involving cuisine. Having lived as a child in Europe and a French mother cuisine was a part of our lives . So able to relate to the travels , the food and her passionate , hardworking approach to her life and the wonderful cuisine she has helped all of us to experience!!

This book captures the excitement of living in France and embracing all that it has to offer, including its food, its people and its landscape, all told by a French food loving icon. Julia Child and Alex Prud'Homme do a wonderful job threading the details of Julia's life into descriptive narration of all that stimulates her (food, her husband, travelling, etc.).
