  • Loved it

5 Star review of My True Love (The Steeles At Silver Island #2) by Melissa Foster From start to finish I was hooked on Grant Silver and Jules Steele’s story, two survivors who have faced death and beaten it. Melissa Foster writes stories with characters who you cannot help but fall in love with. She is not afraid to show them at their most vulnerable and this is certainly the case in My True Love. This story resonated with me, it buried in deep and took hold and refused to let me go. Returning home to Silver Island, Grant is overwhelmed and feeling smothered by the community he grew up in. Grant needs to decide what he wants to do now that his military career has ended, a man who is bitter and resentful. Having survived cancer Jules knows how precious it is to wake up everyday. Like me, she is grateful for every day and appreciates it now more than ever. Can Jules show Grant that his life isn’t over, that it has changed, yes, but it isn’t over? Her warmth and happiness frustrate him but slowly and surely she brings light, happiness and love into his solitary existence My True Love is a heart warming, beautiful love story, of two damaged souls who come together and embark on a beautiful journey together. I can’t remember when I last wanted a couple to find the love that they both deserved like Grant and Jules.

  • Excellent - can't wait for book 3

My True Love by Melissa Foster The Steeles at Silver Island #2 Pollyanna, pixie-like, Tinkerbell Jules Ex-covert ops, injured, grumpy Grant She’s crushed on him a while He’s been oblivious and feels “not good enough” Will her happy pixie dust sprinkled on his life help…or not? What I liked: * Returning to Silver Island and seeing the characters again * Jules: always finds the good no matter how bad the situation, has it bad for Grant, BFF with Bellamy – Grant’s sister, successful business woman, cancer survivor, good friend, loving supportive sister, just what Grant needs. * Grant: eldest of five siblings, great role model, strong, independent, a leader, lost his true north after injury, wallowing a bit, good friend, capable, giving, ready to “emerge” once Jules begins to get through to him. * Communication openness between Jules and Grant – in and out of the bedroom * Surprises that the two main characters gifted one another * Good friends and how they supported the main characters * That problems from the past were finally tackled in a mature positive way * That Jules and Grant managed to overcome relationship obstacles without angst and drama…or not much * The location * Writing that made me feel I was there * The backstory learned about Grant’s parents * The holidays visited and how family and community enjoyed them * Knowing that this series will have many more books for me to enjoy What I didn’t like: * Hmm…not sure it is a “dislike” but there were times that I felt Jules was even more Pollyanna-ish that Pollyanna. I wondered if a person could always be so positive…no matter what. * Knowing that not all military veterans who have medical discharges land on their feet as Grant was able to. Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in this series? Yes Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4-5 Stars

  • "You've become my world."

Everything Melissa Foster writes is beautiful and eloquent. She takes us away to places that are alluring and filled with happiness, which is the perfect setting for love to bloom and thrive. Her way with words grabs your heart, pulls you in and makes you happy inside. Her poetic prose created page after page of meaningful and emotional conversations between Grant and Jules. It was as if Jules was peeling away the layers of anger and despair so Grant could see how wonderful his life could be. Grant wasn’t sure what the future would bring but the ocean breezes and warm sand soothed his soul and gave him hope that everything would be alright. Silver Island is an idyllic place to fall in love and reconnect with family and friends. Jules was the perfect woman to accompany Grant on his search for the next chapter in his life. Her upbeat and infectious personality warmed Grant’s heart and made him feel that he was more than just a soldier. I love Jules because she always sees the good in people and finds so much joy when she helps her family and community. Jules was an ethereal pixie, making everyone smile and brightening up their lives. She was Grant’s angel, his lucky charm and the woman who brought light back into his life. Will Grant fall under Jules's magical spell and realize he had found a home with her or will he retreat back to the beach and think about what might have been?

  • All the feels

This book has it all! It is emotional, sweet, romantic, and sexy! She’s his light to his darkness and everything he needs to heal and move on to his future. So many things happen in this book but it is wonderfully written and pulled together so nicely. Well done.

  • Absolutely loved!

When an IED explosion not only cost Grant his military career, he also lost part of his leg and most of his hearing in one ear. Moving back to Silver Island was not in his plans. He spends most of his time angry and alone until his sister's best friend decides it's her mission to bring him back to the person he was before. Jules sees the bright side of any situation. She's had a crush on Grant forever and is determined to help him find his way back to his family and friends. As she inserts herself into Grant's life, he realizes it's easy to confide in her about his lost military career, the riff with his father and how he doesn't know what to do with the rest of his life. When the chemistry between Jules and Grant is to much to deny, they embark on a love story for the ages. Jules is the sunshine to his darkness and with her in his life, anything is possible. Another wonderful story by Melissa Foster!
