    Amusing and Steamy

Favorite Quotes: Since I’d royally screwed up my life freshman year, I’d been clear about the dog-to-guy hierarchy in my life. Dogs before dudes, and all that. I mean, guys were great at one thing, and one thing only…helping me control my hormones. But for the important things—like companionship, entertainment, and love—my heart belonged to the hounds. And sweet baby Jesus, he was a feast for the eyes. I'm not going to lie, I’d worn my best underwear under this get-up, totally not appropriate for self-defense activity, but perfect for this one. It probably made me look desperate, like I was hoping this would happen, but what can I say? I was. “Do you want to see where I work?” he asked, suddenly. I tipped my face up to his and watched as his expression turn a little shy. I sensed instantly that this was a big deal. He was inviting me into his life, and that right there, was even more intimate than what just happened in an old basement gym. His body turned me into a moron. I planted the longest, dirtiest kiss on the woman I loved. I kissed her as if my life depended on it…because, well, it was starting to feel like it did. My Review: Written from my favorite dual POV, Never Be Tamed had an interesting and unique premise and provided a well-balanced and entertaining read that alternated between amusing, sensual, and angsty. I don’t recall ever reading a story that featured a mean girl as the main character, although, since we get to see what is actually behind the persona and know that Jenna is not all bad without her minions on hand, I guess she’s more of a reforming mean girl… as while she has mellowed and gained insight, she can still throw the snark. I enjoyed Michael and Jenna’s steamy and budding romance, and I especially liked that she was an animal lover and advocate. Fostering and rescuing animals is a cause near and dear to me, so I was predisposed to be her ally. Being unfamiliar with the previous stories in this series was of no consequence as this book could stand-alone, although I find I my curiosity has been tripped and feel the pull to know more of the back-story. I always enjoy Clare James’ work and every time I read one of her books it sparks my greed to want everything she ever pens.
