A vacation fling that becomes so much more

Briggs and Talia aren't really in a place where a relationship is wanted. Needed? I say yes, but the definitely not wanted. Both are mending from heartache in their own way -- she with a relaxing vacation, he demolishing and renovating. It's a game of "look but don't look", and it was endearing to watch their attraction to and curiosity about one another grow from afar. They don't have a lot of time together. Vacations eventually come to an end. Real life doesn't stop just because you stepped away from it for a moment. It isn't a matter of indulging in one another now, scratching that itch, and living in the moment. It's a matter of how long do you play the game when your heart is pushing for more. What once was not needed is now a necessity. How does that happen? Time, honestly, and an openness with one another that was unexpected. Their one week together wasn't just spent in the sun and surf and bed. It was spent talking, getting to know one another. Strangers to friends to lovers. It might have started with "I Spy" but it ended with "I love". Ms. Michaels is a new author for me. Her writing is poignant and evocative. Her characters are real, their circumstance are too. This was a feel-good sensual romance with attraction that built over time and passion that consumed on time. It left me happy, from my head to my heart, because this is what I've been needing, what my reader soul has been craving: a well-written, suck-you-in, leave-you-smiling romance that speaks to all of me.
