New York Station by Lawrence Dudley

A truly entertaining and engaging novel. Historically significant. A really great read.

Much better than the typical spy fiction book

This espionage book takes place during WW II but is set in New York state, where a British agent follows suspicious Germans and determines their conspiracy. The primary character is well-developed and three-dimensional. It is set partly in New York city and also in Saratoga during the horse race season in the 1940s. (The latter locale is especially interesting.) There are enough twists and turns to make this novel difficult to put down. It is also intelligently and articulately written. The second book, The Hungry Blade, is even better; I gave that one a five star rating.
