  • Different but Great

Craig Johnson has written a gem of a story, fiction mixed in with a historical subject and done it in a masterful way. A good read!

  • Another Longmire triumph

Walt is getting older and more tired, but he still feels the passion to solve a mystery and bring some justice. This novel features the discovery of a once-famous painting of Custer’s Last Stand and then its disappearance again. There’s a murder connected to the painting and then it’s full speed to the finish. The Longmire gang are all there with Henry Standing Bear providing a different perspective of the famous 1876 battle. A solid mystery with a real history lesson tossed in and written with Johnson’s feel for character, setting and mood. A winner in a great series.

  • Next to Last Stand

Next to Last Stand is the latest book in the Longmire mystery series and like all the other books is an excellent read. You get a different perspective of American history and it’s an integral part of the story and never feels forced or preachy. This is another of Craig Johnson’s books that I will be reading again. It is fast paced, and well worth the two late nights to finish it.
