    A great Fantasy Story

Nightwalker is a great fantasy story interrupted frequently with graphic sex. The book is great because the narrative stirs up an emotional connection between the main characters and the reader. The ending draws the Nightwalker series to a close, but provides a satisfying personal hope for the future. The book can be read independently as well as the final chapter in a series.

Truly Excellent series, truly excellent writing

I absolutely love this series! I love how this book has characters from this series, and characters from other series by Frank; it's so great to see how other couples are doing, and how they all come together to combat evil. Luckily I have read all the books from the other series, and in this series, so I got the full impact of this book, and I do think it's a really good idea for a reader to read all the other books because it helps to have the whole back story of this world and its characters. This book does do a good job of letting the reader know about some of the other characters stories though, but this book is a conclusion book; a final battle book, so it's best to read all the books I feel. I love all the different types of supernaturals represented in this book, as well as other books by Frank, and Frank's writing is really excellent, and I was totally intrigued through the whole book. Each of the characters have such unique powers, and it's really cool when they get put to use. I liked the addition of Kamen and Vieve's story, and it was great to see Kamen truly come to understand the meaning of redemption and forgiveness, and Vieve is a sweetheart, who deserves happiness, and to find a place where she belongs, and with people who will appreciate her for who she is. This is a truly wonderful book, and I love Frank's writing, and I am definitely looking forward to reading more from her.

    I enjoyed it

I actually did not realize until I was a few chapters in that this is the final installment of the series and so it took me a bit to figure out who the major players were but even without reading any of the connecting books in the series, NIGHTWALKER nicely wraps up the series and was a very enjoyable read. Kamen has several lifetimes of wrongdoings against the other Bodywalkers to make amends for, but the most significant is his inadvertent release of a deadly god who is determined to destroy the world. To avoid this, he has to convince all other Nightwalker nations to unify in the fight to defeat the god. His partner in this plan is Geneviève. Part human, part wraith, Viève has been an outcast all her life due to the circumstances of her birth and has zero self-esteem, but this may be her chance to show how valuable she is. As they spend time together, they find themselves drawn to each other but Kamen is so heavily weighed down by the guilt he carries that he does not believe that he deserves what Viève is offering. Viève is determined to prove that's he worth it all and she's very fierce in her defense of him, which is something Kamen is not used to. For Viève, being among this group is eye opening and the respect with which she is treated is very new and a boost to her self-esteem, but Kamen made all the difference. He was so tender with her and treated her like something very precious. Their successful completion of their assignment in its own way is validation of their value to the group and it was very nice seeing both of them form their own unit. NIGHTWALKER is all about redemption. Kamen is determined to earn his redemption and and does that over and over again, putting himself in danger for the good of everyone else. While there is the expected battle with and triumph of good over evil, I had more fun reading what came before that final battle - the politics, negotiations, danger and finally all nations coming together against their common enemy. I really enjoyed the world Ms. Frank created and the glimpses of the various nations and their abilities at the beginning of this book helped fill the blank spaces. However, it can be a bit overwhelming to keep track of and for anyone who has never read any of the connecting/preceding books, I'll recommend doing that before picking up NIGHTWALKER to avoid getting confused.
