    No Game for a Dame

What could a dame achieve as a private detective? This one was smart, very smart, and had plenty of good, solid connections in the local constabulary. But not many men thought a woman could have brains and use them, so she had to work doubly hard to crack the problem and solve the mysterious thefts which were cropping up all around the city.

    No Game for a Dame

Great book! I look forward to reading more by this author. Beautifully descriptive writing, fast paced, clever plot and wonderful characters. Maggie Sullivan is a satisfyingly feisty dame from a bygone era.
