    Hettie Ivers is back again!

Hettie Ivers is back again with some of our favorite werelocks and O-M-G! If you haven't read the other books in the series, you can definitely start here. It is a stand-alone novel and, at $0.99, the price is right for a full-length book with no cliffhangers (my type of book). My husband read this book without reading any of the others and was able to follow along easily. He even said it was "good", which is a huge compliment coming from him considering this isn't a genre he likes to read. This is Alcaeus and Av Alcaeus is a 400+ year old werelock I’ll who has been looking for the prophesied Rogue for decades. The Rogue is said to be an incredibly powerful creature who won't need a pack and will have the power to destroy the human race. Avery is the mother of the Rogue. Al and Avery... well, not only are they enemies by the fact that one is hunting the others' child... They are also mates! No problem there. ;) The events in the book tests loyalties and friendships (as the blurb on the back-cover suggests). Hettie is a masterful writer. The book is descriptive and you feel as if you are there with the characters. There are strong themes here - closure, a mothers' protective instincts, darkness. Several characters face the struggle between following their hearts and their minds, and it really is a battle to choose between the two when they tell you to take opposite action. As one character said, the world is not solely black and white. There are shades of grey. Through all of that, Hettie had me laughing with the characters and crying with them. I felt their happiness, grief, and longing. I felt the excitement and adrenaline rush that you feel when in action and your heart starts pumping. I found myself unable to put down the book until I had devoured every word on every page and I wanted more... so I read and re-read the previews for the next 2 books. ;) If you've read the Trilogy, this book is different. There is more action... more substance of a different kind. It's certainly funnier and I think that is because we are seeing it from Alcaeus and Avery's POV instead of Milena's. The emotions expressed and evoked also go deeper. Overall, another great one to add to my bookshelf. This book quickly and surprisingly became my favorite in the series... It kind of snuck in that small group. I know that I will re-read it multiple times.

Another brilliant offering by Hettie Ivers!

When you pick up a book by Hettie Ivers you are almost guaranteed to get a book that is going to blow your mind on multiple levels. No Light was no deviation from the incredible stories I’ve come to expect from this talented author. No Light included the brilliant characters Alcaeus, Kai, and Raul from her other Werelock Evolution books. She also introduced new characters Wyatt, Avery and Sloane. I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to these characters and their interactions. Throughout the book I found myself, laughing, saddened, sometimes sobbing, while other times I was irritated and wondering what Hettie Ivers was thinking with all the twists and turns she threw in this book. Of course no book by Hettie Ivers would be complete without some rather steamy scenes, and let me tell you, her steamy scenes could fog up this reader’s glasses, even when she isn’t wearing them!! The chemistry between Alcaeus and Avery was…I have no words. I simply couldn’t get enough of this couples interactions. I can’t deny the fact I absolutely loved Avery’s relationship, if you want to call it that, with Kai as well. When it came to Avery and Sloane if only I could convey everything those scenes stirred up in both my heart and mind. I loved this book for all of the humor, action, heat, and even the tenderness in certain scenes. I’ll leave you with one of my favorite passages from No Light. I must have read this 4 or 5 times. It struck a chord with me and I would imagine it will with others. “You don’t need to know the details of all the bad things that have happened in my past to know who I am. Who I am is right in front of you. The things that happen to us in life—that’s just circumstance. What we make of them … that’s who we are.”

Packed with action, sex, conflict and humour!

No Light was an evocative read full of twists and turns that is accompanied with euphoria of steamy scenes between Avery and Alcaeus as well as humorous banters between characters. Hettie's writing is fantastic as always, her words reaching out to the reader and grabbing them by their hearts. Fantastic read! Can't wait for Seer!
