    Addictive!

If you want to get lost in a story, Linwood Barclay’s two books, “No Time for Goodbye” and “No Safe House” will keep you occupied almost non-stop from start to finish. They’d be ideal books to read on a long train or plane trip, or at the beach, or anytime you’re without responsibilities, or with time to kill, or you need to get your mind off the troubles of the world. I read somewhere that you can read these books independently – not in order – and you can, but I think it’s much better to read them in sequence. Ideally, you’ll read “No Time for Goodbye” and then “No Safe House” immediately afterwards. Linwood Barclay’s books are always terrific reads. I’ve listened to them as audiobooks, too. He is a superb storyteller, and his writing style is so easy, so compelling, so – well – addictive. A warning about these books: They might not let you sleep – not just because they’re absolutely thrilling in places, but simply because they’re almost impossible to put down. I found I was waking up through the night just so I could read one… two… three more chapters. I guess I’m glad I’ve finished them now so I can sleep through the night. But I know what I’m really going to do. I’m going to look for another of his books. Like peanuts. I warned you!

    No Safe House

Good plot chopped up too fine. Must have been targeted at fidgety readers. An experiment perhaps? Still recommend!

    No Safe House

I love the way Mr. Barclay brings back characters from other books and builds on what you already know about them. There was no other way to complete Vince's story but I really liked him and his relationship with Jane. I will miss him. I am looking forward to other books focusing on his incredibly interesting characters.
