    Getting better all the time!

Sophie Marren’s life is a disaster; she has lost almost everything, except the boat she’s living on, which she asked as a divorce settlement from her ex-husband. She’s back in Cedar Ridge, Colorado, but she has to move her boat every so often because a hot guy keeps telling her she can’t park, er, moor, anywhere she chooses. Said hot guy is Jacob Kincaid, who is on leave from the Army; his best friend died, it knocked some sense into him, and he realises he has a lot of making up to do with his family. And when he meets the gorgeous redhead living on her boat, he knows that not everything is going to be all bad. Right upon meeting Sophie, Jill Shalvis’ unmistakable sense of humour comes out in full force, and I knew that NOBODY BUT YOU was going to be great fun. I love Sophie: she is very easy to relate to, she’s a bit sarcastic; she’s had a rather rough life, and she’s at a crossroads. She barely makes ends meet, and to top it all off, she’s seasick. Jacob is a wonderful character, in spite of his shortcomings. Neither Sophie and Jacob is looking for love, and yet it finds them. Both of them have families with quite complex dynamics. I love how Ms. Shalvis weaves Sophie and Jacob’s stories, and how it all explains how they became what they are today. The chemistry between them gives off serious sparks – in several ways! – but connecting proves very difficult, in spite of their strong mutual attraction. NOBODY BUT YOU is one of Jill Shalvis’ most powerful stories, carefully crafted, with very complex characters that take you through the gamut of emotions. The Kincaids are a fascinating family, they feel authentic; no one is perfect, there is tension but they really work at togetherness. Ms. Shalvis is famous for her sizzling love scenes, witty dialogue and hilarious passages, and all of them are plentiful in NOBODY BUT YOU. This book features some of the author’s strongest characters ever, and it’s hard to believe but Jill Shalvis is getting even better; NOBODY BUT YOU is yet another excellent book in this great series. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved It! - On My 2016 Favourites List

Loved it! Going on my 2016 Favourite Reads. Enjoyable from start to last. Great writing - author interspersed heavy, heartwarming, emotional healing moments with playful light banter, sexy and sigh-worthy romantic moments. Pacing meant not too much angsty drama, except for the obligatory miscommunication/ misunderstanding crisis that was, thank God, short lived. It was my favourite book in the Series. I would not recommend reading it without the context of the previous two books in the series to fully understand the responses of his family to his return. Red Flag For Some Readers: Sophie's relationship with her Ex feels very emotionally and psychologically abusive.

    Is It Hot In Here?

I wish Jacob was real and liked fat, old, bleach blondes! Jacob is just the perfect man. I really enjoyed everything about him. Sophie was in trouble and trusted no one. She and Jacob met and began their battle of wills at once. Sophie planned to resist Jacob; what she didn't plan was their explosive chemistry. You don't want to miss this book!

    Returning Home

I’m not sure I can express how much I loved Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis. This book exemplifies Shalvis’ sense of humor, her creativity, as well as her outstanding writing ability. Nobody But You is the third book in her Cedar Ridge series, featuring the Kincaid family. This book stars Jacob Kincaid, missing brother of the Kincaid family, and Sophie Marren, a recent divorcee who’s trying to gain control of her life. Jacob and Hudson (book 2, My Kind of Wonderful) are identical twins who had a falling out on the night of their high school graduation. Jacob left Cedar Ridge, joined the Army and became incommunicado. After getting injured in a blast that killed his best friend, Jacob returns to Cedar Ridge to try and make things right. Sophie is a lost soul. The only asset she took from her marriage was the boat her cheating, two-timing ex-husband loved more than anything. He took her car and got her fired from her job. Currently, Sophie is working as a temp as she moves the boat to various places to dock overnight without paying for a slip. She finds herself face to face with Jacob when she docks the boat on the pier at the house he is renting. Ms. Shalvis did an amazing job taking the reader through the up and downs these two go through to discover themselves. In addition to the two have an undeniable attraction for each other and the ability to see below the surface to who the real them. Not only do Jacob and Sophie love each other, they find the key to loving themselves. Nobody But You, although part of the Cedar Ridge series, is a standalone story. Shalvis is a talented writer, able to create a funny, romantic story that made it hard, at least for this reader, to put the book down. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good contemporary romance that contains a lot of humor mixed in with smexy. I really enjoy reading books written by Jill Shalvis and am always looking forward to her next one.
