  • Awesome

North to Nara (Crimson Sash Book 1) by Amanda Marin 5 Stars Oh My Goodness..I loved this story, I kept trying to slow myself down so that it would not end quite so fast. Neve and Micah’s story was heartbreaking...their crime? Love and holy moly following them and their story was completely addictive. I want more like right now! LOL This is a dystopian novel and is told in a way that's a bit different then Im used to. Everything in some parts felt so normal and real then theres the other parts that reminded me there was nothing normal about it. I've only recently started choosing dystopian themed stories and this one went far and beyond my expectations. The cover is absolutely gorgeous and the story was no different. I loved the family aspect of this story (especially Rafe’s part in it) and the friendship between Neve and Tali which I hope is in future books of this series. Oh I wish I could go on and on about the storyline but I'm not going to, I just can't wait for the next and to see what lies ahead for these two people. The writing in this story is absolutely beautiful and the smooth flow will have me watching for anything and everything this author brings us! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!

  • North to Nara is wonderful!

Micah and Nieve's love story is one for the ages! Together they prove that the way to true happiness points north!!! Loved it! Great writing! What would you risk for love? In North to Nara that question is put to the ultimate test. The Nation, home to Neve and Micah, is a fine-tuned, beautiful, and orderly place. Everyone has a keen sense of patriotism that doesn’t question the inner mechanisms, laws, and regulations of the society they live in. Everyone knows their place and all work together to put the Nation first to its ultimate benefit. Neve hasn’t a care in the world. A student, finishing her education at the National Academy, she enjoys her job at the museum, long walks in the park filled with beautiful flowering cherry trees, and spending time with her best friend, Tali. She and others, in the Nation, have an idyllic life, free of anguish and emotional pain, due to weekly trips to the Center of Compassion. There, machines, with highly advanced technology, connected to a mature Nationalist and a specially trained empath, called a Sufferer, work together to rid the Nation’s people of all sorrows and sufferings. Although the process leaves the patient in better mental health, the cost is great for the Sufferer… for he becomes afflicted with the transferred troubles and torments of the patient he helps… affecting his own physical and mental health and consequently greatly shortened life. Sufferers must never love, marry, or have children. It is prohibited and illegal. While the Nation may have a good many laws that seem unfair, this law, forbidding love, hits Neve and Micah at the core. Micah and Neve are in love. It wasn’t planned…it just happened. In constant fear of discovery, they must sneak about the Commons catching brief moments together. These clandestine meetings go on for a time…until they are caught red-handed. Micah is labeled a traitor and arrested - seemingly tearing the young lovers apart forever. What can they do? Where will they go? Is north the direction that will prove that love never fails? This story has it all…adventure, mystery, and intrigue! The characters are likable and the writing superb! A must read!

  • A Must Read!

Love this dystopian romance. From beginning to end I was amazed at how real and authentic the characters seemed! I think I have fallen in love with Micah Ward! But please don't tell anyone! I loved how Neve and Micah support one another. Their love and commitment to one another is a lesson we all can learn from. A thoroughly enjoyable story! An absolute MUST read!!!

  • North to Nara, A Great Start to a New Series

The first book in the Crimson Sash series and it does end on a cliff-hanger. A well written story by an Author I have not read before. Neve Hall and Micah Ward's story has suspense, drama, danger, murder, twists, turns, the Nation that is not what it seems, escape, and forbidden romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
