    Second chance in love

I love Janice Maynard's books and I was happy to discover a book by her that I haven't read yet. In Note by Note we got 2 different stories, the mail plot is about Jane and Ethan but we also get to read about Ethan's sister Sherry and Ethan co worker Randy. Jane and Ethan used to be best friends until Ethan got engaged and Jane that always had a crush on him couldn't stay friends with him. Ethan engagement were short but even after breaking up with his fiancee his friendship with Jane was over. Jane decides to woo Ethan with a series of erotic valentines every Thursday until the big day. Then she’ll finally reveal her true identity but when her stationery store is vandalized, Sheriff Ethan comes to her rescue and the sparks start flying ahead of schedule and now Jane doesn't know if she should tell Ethan she is the one behind the erotic valentines. I enjoyed reading about Jane and Ethan and how they were trying to figure out a way to be more than friends, Jane saw Ethan in a romantic light a long time ago but it took Ethan some time to see Jane as more than just a friend. As much as I enjoyed reading about Jane and Ethan I loved reading about Sherry and Randy even more. Sherry got pregnant when she was 17 and got married because of it. The marriage only lasted about 10 years and Sherry devoted her all time to raising her daughter and she always felt like she needs to make up for her teenage mistake by being the perfect mom and not let the people in the town a reason to talk and gossip about her. When Sherry's daughter decided to stay in Florida with her dad and go to school there she is very upset so her brother Ethan convince her to start catering lunch to the officers in his police station. The first time Randy sees Sherry at the police station is attracted to her but she is afraid to go out on a date with him since he's 9 years younger than her and she hasn't been on a date since her divorce 10 years ago. For the first time in her life Sherry feels a strong attraction to a man but she is also afraid to express her feelings but Randy is not willing to give her up without a fight. I loved reading about Sherry and Randy and since I was only one love plot it was great to get to read another love story.
