    Not worth the wait

I love Christina Dodd's books, and I loved the first book in this series (Virtue Falls) - so it pains me to say I was very disappointed in this book. The first turnoff for me was the extremely graphical violence, that seems to be becoming a trend in Christina's books. However, I was willing to overlook that and got about 3/4 of the way through a very good book when the story-line became very strange. Then the last 10 pages killed the entire book for me - I wished I could unread it. It sounds like other readers enjoyed this book, so obviously there is an audience for this type of story-line. However, if you were a fan of the first book and like a more traditional romantic suspense - this is not the book for you. If you are a fan of Christina's paranormal series, then you will probably enjoy the book. I'm really hoping that the next book in the series goes back to the type of story-line we got in Virtue Falls (book 1), because if this is the style that Christina is changing to I will have lost a favorite author.

    Well written

But I do not like books that end badly, and for me the ending was bad. In fact I am not happy that one of my favourite authors has sucummed to the current fashion of cliff hangingly bad endings.
