    Thanks for your feedback!

good read for basketball and single dad fans

I keep bouncing back and forth on a rating for this one so I’m going to just cut in half and call it a 3.5 star story. I’m not a big fan of the young adult genre because it usually lacks a certain level of maturity in the characters. Because of that, I was a little hesitant when I first started this book because of how the characters were being portrayed. They came across as pretty immature even though they’re supposed to be in their 20’s. It improved throughout the book but they still had many moments where I couldn’t help but think they were just being ridiculous. I’m glad I stuck with it though because this turned out to be a really good story. Overall, the characters were likable and Trae really had his sweet moments. He and Courtney make a great team, on and off the court. Callie, Trae’s daughter, will really pull at your heart strings and I really liked the way she and her situation were laid out for us. There are lots of people to keep track of since the whole basketball team is involved at times and there are lots of basketball references and details. Since I’m not a sports fan I ended up skimming through some of that but it didn’t take away from the story for me; that much involvement in the game just isn’t my thing.
