    Sweet

I enjoyed seeing the change in both Lucas and Sarah. They have so much in common but are letting the past keep them apart. Will they take one last risk to be together? If you love romance and real life issues then this is the book for you.

    Small Town Romance

Small town romance set in Oak Grove. Sarah, young widow with small daughter wants to start her life over after loosing her husband in a fire. Shortly after moving to Oak Grove she is involved in a car accident when Lucas, EMT/Firefighter rescues her. Lucas has his own demons after loosing his best friend in a house fire. A budding relationship develops but Lucas is keeping one secret from Sarah, will it make it or break it for them. Great characters that are both fighting their own demons but come to terms with their pasts. I fell in love with both Sarah and Lucas, both very strong. Lucas willing to give up what he has to win over Sarah. Sarah's daughter, Lily is so cute too. I highly recommend this story, looking forward to my next visit to Oak Grove.

    Good story

I really enjoyed the story of Lucas and Sarah. Both are scarred by deaths due to a fire and are looking to move on but neither is quite sure how to do that.

    Love finds Lucas and Sarah

** I received a free ARC of this book, and I chose to provide this review. All opinions are my own. ** After reading Last Call, I was really excited for this book release, and the author did not disappoint. The first chapter of this book really pulled me in, and I felt an instant connection to Lucas. I thought the author did a fantastic job of giving us background info on both main characters, as well as giving us an insight to other residents and the city of Oak Grove. I believe the author has done a great job of setting the stage for future installments of this series. The story development was a little slow and at times felt like it was repetitive. However, because the characters were so likeable, I wanted to continue reading to see how the story unfolded. The author does such a great job getting the readers invested with the characters that the slow development was easy to overlook. I liked that both main characters have flaws and that we got to see real emotion from them. There were times where my heart actually wrenched in pain for them, and of course, times where I was so overjoyed by their interaction that I felt happy. Feeling those ups and downs throughout the story is just another way of knowing the author is doing a great job of connecting the reader to the characters. Another thing I loved about this book is that it was a good mix of sweet and sexy. While the characters are extremely likeable and very nice, the bedroom scenes were the right amount of steamy and sexy. One last thing I want to mention is that I love romance stories where people fall in love with their mate AND with their mate’s child. I thought the author did a great job of showing how Lucas fell in love with his future step-daughter, as well. That always warms my heart.

Nothing compares to small town romance.

There is nothing that compares to small town romance. The deeper connections between the long time residents. The nosy neighbors that look out for one another. Big city heartache is a regular resident in small town love, but the abundance of heart never dwindles, Nancy Stopper, pushes all my buttons with One Last Risk. Lovable characters, beautiful surroundings and hard learned lessons are prevalent. Yet, she still manages to keep the feeling of devotion, hope and healing that I love so much. Sarah and Lucas are two ships set adrift in lonely waters. Grief has been a constant friend. Will a chance encounter between the firefighter and the single mom, give them a chance to start over again?
