    Thanks for your feedback!

Fantastic read! This author has definitely found her way on to my must read list. I really love the basic story in this one. Adam Carson is an injured basketball player who knows he is at the end of his career and trying to find his way through that. He meets physical therapist student Jess Elliott, who has be devastatingly hurt in the past and refuses to let any one get close to her again. Adam is persistent though and won't give up so easily! I found Jess a bit selfish at times but I understood that was the core of the issues she was dealing with so although her character wasn't as endearing as some, in the end I did find myself rooting for her. This is one I highly recommend!

    Fantastic story!!!

She only has one night stands because she doesn't think she deserves more. She suffered a tragedy that put her on anti-depressants, which she stopped taking. Jessica Elliott is going to school to be a physical therapist, which is where she meets college basketball star Adam Carson. He's in physical therapy with a knee injury. The more time they spend together, the closer they become. So close, that she's just waiting for the other shoe to drop. She's waiting for him to leave because they always do. Will Adam stick around for this roller coaster ride with Jess? I loved it! Great character depth. The author told us everything we need to know without excessive filler story. My heart was breaking for Jess, Adam and Bryan, each for their own reasons. Zoe is everything you'd want in a best friend. I truly enjoyed reading this story full of tragic loss, friendship, family and love. I'm looking forward to A.J. Pines's next book, One Life, coming out in October 2015. Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

sexy and emotional new adult story!

This emotionally complex romance is the story of Jess and Adam. Jess has experienced a trauma in her life that has left her emotionally scarred and unable to commit to anything with a man more than a one night stand. When she meets Adam, an injured basketball player as part of her physiotherapy school rotation, his obvious interest in her is something she is unsure how to deal with. It's only a matter of time before the sparks between them lead to something more than friendship. But will Jess's inability to trust Adam with her past ruin their new relationship? I really loved this story. It starts out strong with Jess revealing her reluctance to commit to any emotional attachment with the men she brings home, but not letting the reader know what is behind her messed up feelings until much later in the story. (Confession, I guessed what had happened right away and was pleased to find out I was right!). All her decisions are made based on events in her past and affect everything about her current relationships with her parents, her roommate and the people she meets, including Adam. Adam is a sweet, friendly man whose knee injury has destroyed his chance at a professional basketball career, though he hopes to give his college team one more winning season. He sees beyond Jess's standoffish demeaner and accepts what she's willing to give him - friendship at the start, though he wants more. I liked how their relationship developed, that it wasn't an insta-love declaration but a true friendship with stronger feelings developing over time. He's very patient with her and though sometimes I just wanted to shake Jess, it's clear that she has problems that have to be dealt with before anything serious is going to happen with her and Adam. The sexual attraction between them leads to some sexy scenes, intense and well written. Equally as much as their relationship, I loved Jess's burgeoning friendship with her roommate Zoe. Zoe doesn't pull any punches once Jess starts opening up to her. Also, my inner geek rejoiced in conversations involving sexy vampire shows, comic-con, Zoe's new friend 'Spock' and assorted other pop culture references. There is plenty of witty banter and comaradarie in the story to go along with the more serious plotline of Jess's trauma and together it made for a riveting, entertaining and emotional read. 5 stars!
