    Action, mystery and captivating characters

This was a most enjoyable read. The descriptions of the island and the folks who reside there drew me in immediately. Mariana, a Canadian woman who needs a fresh start, returns to the island of Bequia where she had once visited with her now deceased husband. But living somewhere is quite different from vacationing there, as she soon learns. The story is sprinkled with captivating characters that show their true colours soon enough. As an expat Canadian, I found myself nodding my head often as I recognized familiar traits and conversations. This book, with plenty of action and mystery, depicts what can happen when more than one culture becomes a community. As an added bonus, the author has included some great Caribbean recipes. Key Lime Pie, anyone? I only hope there is a sequel as I'd like to see more of the characters and a place I came to care about.
