It gets even better the second time

It is always a pleasure for me to read Ms. Blevins books. But after rereading Only Human I have to say it gets even better the second time. The characters in this story, old and new, are so well developed, the story line sucks you in and does not let you go until the end. C.D. never disapoints.

    Kick-ass Heroine!

This is the first book in the new Urban Fantasy series by Candace Blevins. I can say I was totally blown away by the story, once I started it, it was very hard to put down. Candace knows how to draw you into the story with vivid detail and character development. I felt immediately immersed in the heroine Kirsten’s life right from the beginning. She lives in a world full of supernaturals, not many humans know about them and a balance has to be kept by them because evil is out and killing people. Kirsten may be only human, but she is a very strong one and is able to help with hunting those evil supernaturals. She meets some very powerful beings, Abbott; the vampire, Mordecai; a god, Randall; a werewolf, Nathan; a lion shifter, and Aaron; a dragon shifter, with who she’s had a long-standing friendship. She ends up under their protection and a few of them are even interested in her. BDSM elements, which are right up the author’s alley, make for an even more interesting story as Kirsten is submissive, but not just with any Dom, that Dom has to earn her submission. Just an amazing story that filled me with suspense, I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next. It also had me longing to meet some of the men in her life, especially Abbott, Aaron and Nathan, these three really intrigued me. I cannot wait to explore more of this world in the other books associated with this series. * I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review
