    Boring

I have always loved Sandra Brown books but was disappointed with this one. Long and drawn out. I skipped chapters to get to the end.

Too predictable and haphazardly put together ...

I have read all of Sandra Brown's books so far I think and loved them , but this one just seemed a little bit lacking of her usual style. A lot of predictability was apparent throughout the book and the romantic bits she usually weaves through the story were just thrown in haphazardly here and there. So was quite disappointed with this novel.

    Almost perfect but not quite

OUTFOX came very close to earning the coveted 5 stars, but did not quite make it. The latter part of chapter 40, the last one, spoiled things a bit; although it did answer a question I had. I felt that some of Drex's backstory didn't fit with what had happened earlier in the book, or I failed to see the signs. One thing bothered me throughout the whole novel and was never addressed: why Talia, a successful and well-off businesswoman, had married Jasper, a man twenty-eight years her senior. She didn't have any discernable emotional or psychological issues and I never got the impression that she had ever loved him; it seemed Talia was married to Jasper merely as a plot requirement to make OUTFOX a romantic suspense. Also I could have done without most of the mushy stuff, particularly the sex scenes, and I felt most of the epilogue was not really necessary. Unfortunately, the the novel sputtered a bit towards the end and it was not due to a convoluted resolution. OUTFOX is overall a terrific thriller; there are no plot holes that I could find regarding the hunt for the psychopathic killer; the characters are well developed - except for those abovementioned details. The writing is excellent, the story flows well, and many chapters ended in a way that had me reading just one more chapter. The secondary characters are interesting and add to the overall texture of the story, the villain is credible, and the dialogues ring true. Sandra Brown is such a fabulous writer I wish she'd stick to straightforward thrillers and forego the romantic aspect, or tone it down a bit, as most of the problems I had with the novel came from that aspect.

    Outfox

Once again Sandra Brown has delivered a chillingly, incredible novel. She is a amazing author, whose books take you deep into a journey that is created by words and vision. Not once in all of her publications have I been disappointed. Being an avid reader myself and having favourites in the literary world, I can say with the upmost respect and years of reading, Sandra Brown is without a doubt a magnificent storyteller and ranks (in my opinion) in the top 5 fiction writers in the world.
