  • Very Compelling Read

This was a very compelling read - hard to put down once you are into it. I am always curious of the mindset of those who fought against my grandfather in WW II and this first-hand account certainly provided some of that insight.

  • explained a tank commanders view

War is hell no matter which side you are on. Following orders from High commanders who only look at maps is done to date. This is why so many lives are lost.

  • A highly interesting read.

A thoroughly open and honest account of a Tiger soldier from the beginning of the war to the end. From trooper to company commander involved in battles from Russia to Normandy and Hungary. A highly interesting and detailed account of the experiences of a young man and his company throughout the war. Training, battles, attacks, retreats, down time and being wounded more than once. The final chapters covers the end of the war and his treatment and imprisonment, an area rarely cover.

    Thanks for your feedback!
