Review: The Royals 1: Paper Princess

Paper Princess by Erin Watt is the first book in The Royals series. Erin Watt is the pen name of two fantastic authors, Elle Kennedy & Jen Frederick. This book is tagged as mature YA and while YA is not a go-to for me it also isn't one I refuse to read. These characters are mature high school students approaching graduation and I'm okay with that. The plot for the book is somewhat modern-day cinderella-ish. Ella is a tough as nails survivor who is intelligent, resourceful, and wary. When she is plucked from her barely surviving life after her mother's death she is leery of her supposed "rescuer" but Callum Royal is legit and has information on her father that she might want. He also opens his home to her, providing more than she could have ever dreamed of. Callum's sons, however, are FAR from welcoming to this interloper they view as a money seeker and home wrecker. The tension is palpable, the characters genuine, the story interesting and engaging. I absolutely loved this story and, despite the wicked cliffie, or because of it, cannot wait for more. I rated this at 5 stars as I was enchanted from the first page with Ella, and as the story evolved and the dynamics between her and her new step-brothers progressed I couldn't put this book down. I enjoyed the "Cinderella" parallels but also thoroughly enjoyed how it was a story completely in it's own right. This review contains no foul language, includes NO personally-identifiable information, has NO links to other sites and does NOT mention the books price. Thank you KOBO for accepting this review.

    TRASH and DISGUSTING

This book is SICK and disgusting, normalizing sexual assualt by depicting a teen girl and a family of teen boys in a situation of hyper sexualized BULLSHIT. Don't believe the positive reviews - which were obviously paid for, because this story is a disturbing piece of TRASH.

    Learn new tricks

Ella is no stranger to hard work in this life. She works hard to get the future she dreams of. So when a stranger claims to be her guardian - she calls his bluff. When it turns out he has 5 seriously handsome sons who she now has to live with, life takes a whole new turn. Ella thinks this may be harder than the life she left. Who do they think she is Cinderella? Lots of great surprises are in store for the reader. I loved this book. I laughed, I cried and then I screamed at the ending! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. There are so many interesting and compelling characters. ***This ARC copy given in exchange for an honest review only.

    An ok book

No originality much. Looks like a cross over of boys over flower and Cinderella and four knight.
